GRU / Augusta University MSN CNL Fall 2017

Published

Hey guys, anyone else applying to the CNL program at Augusta University ( previously known as GRU)? I am going to be applying and if admitted I think I would prefer to make my move a few months post acceptance. I have 2 bachelors and my passion is with Psychiatric Mental health but I really don't want another Bachelors so the CNL seems just fine to have under my belt until I maneuver into a DNP program. It all sounds so pricey but in the end I believe it will be worth the while. I know I am early but hopefully others are interested. My scores aren't great but I saw people with similar scores with acceptance so lets just pray. I have great grades it is just one school gave me F's instead of W's when I withdrew in 2008 and I have had hell getting it off my record but it has no bearing on my gpa it is still "good" just not where it could be without 4-5 F's.

Grovetown is definitely going to be a lengthy drive to campus and the Evans traffic is horrible. There are some nicer apartments off Walton Way in the Summerville area. Most are AU students. This is a nicer area of town and is still close to campus. North Augusta has some nice apartments as well. NA is so close to the medical distract. If you stay off Martintown Rd it'll be around a 10minute commute. Most of NA is safe too.

Has as anyone heard back from their interviews? The deadline is coming up so we should know our class pretty soon!!

Listen to her, lol. I tend to forget that not everyone has a 30 minute commute to get anywhere:roflmao:

I haven't heard back yet, it still says "Ready for Review" when I check my status. I looked on the CoN master calendar to see if they included the Admissions Committee meetings like last year, however they don't have it this year so I started to compare the calendars between this year and last. I'm thinking (well, hoping) it might be the "BAC Committee Meeting", which met today, however I have no real idea. Yes, my impatience causes me to investigate lol:)

@Enny- Brigham Woods off Skinner Road & The Glen at Alexander both have nice apartment complexes. Most of the apartment complexes are cheaper if you have roommates, and both of these complexes are gated with swim, tennis, on site gym, and close to campus.

When did you complete your application? Did you take the MAT or just the GRE?

@trichick- Everyone seems to be in the same boat with ready for review, just keep swimming :-). How is 2nd semester going? Did you take Micro or CLEP (test out) of any prereq coursework?

Thats definitely out there!

i really hope you find out soon! I'm sure you'll get in this year, since you've been accepted before.

I'm taking Chem 1 online right now (starting week 3 out of an 8 week course). I'm holding a 97% in the class, but I'm not banking on ending with that:roflmao:

I haven't taken Micro yet. I have Stats and Micro left, I'm planning on taking Stats March-May and Micro May-July.

@trichick-Good luck with Chem! You're already doing amazing in Chem & will continue to excel! You have a well organized plan to complete all of your coursework. Are you taking classes at GMC? It is nice to get all the prereqs knocked out in the 8 week quarter system. Keep it up! :-)

Thanks i would definitely look into it.. you are already making me feel welcome. Well i took the GRE few months ago and i did not prepare for it and i still got close to 280 but am taking it next week and preparing hard too. I tried looking into the MAT but it looked really difficult for me to wrap my head around so i would stick with the GRE. Thanks again.

Thank you! I am taking them through GMC, I've been very happy with them thus far. It is really nice to knock them out in 8 weeks, regardless of the fact that it's twice the work!:)

@enny- I understand completely, I had not heard of the MAT before and with the test being so vague, I took the GRE as well. Good luck with the GRE! You've already applied and will easily be up to update your test score :).

@trichick- I took some courses at GMC before and was quite pleased with the faculty and organization of the courses.

Has anyone that interviewed in Athens on the 12th heard anything yet?

@Trichick... wow you must be really good in chem to take it on line. I tried taking inorganic chem and i almost went crazy.. also for your stat i trust you to get at least B because that is the requirement for the DNP. All the best.

When I was accepted last year I still had the same amount of pre-reqs remaining. When they informed me of my acceptance they said it was contingent upon the fact that I get an A or B in my remaining pre-reqs (not sure if that is the policy for everyone with remaining pre-reqs). Haha I'm going to operate under the assumption that this year would be no different so I'm aiming to hopefully get an A in all of them. Fingers crossed!
