a couple of years ago, while working as a tech i was fired from a big DFW hospital...i didn't put anyone in danger, i just couldn't work the hours, was late... because my doofus husband (now EX) was court ordered to be out of my home and away from my children (unless supervised). i couldn't go anywhere without a babysitter...i was so embarrassed, worried about my kids, and on the verge of a total breakdown, so i didn't tell anyone at this hospital because i just started working there...anyway the manager turned me into groupone(found out about this evil entity after i was denied employment)...now i am a RN and can't find a job...
is it possible to work in dallas, or do i just pack up and find another state to live/work??
How can we get something like this started?? Good idea....but we would need to know who we are dealing with and the possible reprecussions involved in this if it isn't established yet.
that's exactly what i thought..HOW?? as far as repercussions, we have the first amendment, right? I mean as long as people are truthful, then i see no problem...and are there enough nurses in a situation such as mine to care?? rather than attacking groupone, what needs to be adressed is the abuse by certain hospitals and the DFWHC allowing that abuse to continue.
so my boyfriend happens to be a web developer so....:)
any ideas??
First thing I would do would be to contact a lawyer to see what we could do that is legal even if it barely on the edge of being legal... my worry would be mentioning names and libel/slander suits but if what we say is true and can prove it I believe we'd probably be able to do it. Anybody know a lawyer they can ask?
just an interesting tid bit....i requested a new copy of my report, just to make sure nothing new is there, guilty conscious.. and of course my 1 bad report is still there, but the other hospitals say "this hospital no longer provides info about separation"
it didn't say that on the report i got in 2007.
this is a good thing i think. ??????
Which hospitals no longer provide information about separation? This would be helpful to know.just an interesting tid bit....i requested a new copy of my report, just to make sure nothing new is there, guilty conscious..and of course my 1 bad report is still there, but the other hospitals say "this hospital no longer provides info about separation"

Florida is no diferent from what has been posted. I am in the process of consulting with an Attorney regarding a Class Action Suite against Tenet. I am a RN with 24 years experience and have a totally clean record. I worked Agency as a 2nd job for two Tenet hospitals in my area: ICU, ER, PACU, for over ten years. I recently applied for Part Time status at the local Trauma Center which is owned by Tenet and which I worked for 5 years full time before Tenet bought the hospital. Tenet owns 6 of the 10 hospitals with in a 30 mile radius. I was hired by the trauma center and with in 1 hr called by HR and told that They made a mistake as I was on a no re-hire list. I did some searching on my own and found out that at one of the Tenet Facilities I worked in as an AGENCY RN the Night supervisor changed my assignment from ICU to TELE. As I never worked the TELE unit in that hospital I refused to go. The previous two days I worked ICU and I had the FLU but the tenet supervisor would not alow me to stay home so I worked ICU with the FLU. Because I refused to take an assignment in the Tele unit that I never oriented on or worked before; I was placed on a NO RE HIRE LIST which Means I cannot work at any Tenet facility in the country they have the monolopy. I have come to find out there are 8000 people on this list and it gets updated daily this is a national list. From what I can gather many were placed on the list 2nd to attempting to form a union. Please pass this e-mail message around, If my Lawyer takes this as a Class Action Case we may be able to stop this practice.
I was never a Tenet Employee in the first place, I worked for the Agency. I was never caled into HR by the agency or Tenet to explain , I was never given any type of due process. I was just restricted from earning a living by a 28 yr old supervisor. No body should have that power.

If someone can't return to the facility as agency but they can return as an employee do you think that would have any bearing??
I know someone that worked on a contract but missed some days so they didn't complete the contract completely. That nurse was offered employment there even after not completing the contract, but didn't like it there. She became desperate for a job and reapplied 6 months later and they called for an interview and she never called back because she was hired else where. She then started working agency and was told by that hospital she can't return as agency because she didn't complete the contract but she can return to hospital as an employee. She spoke with the director of HR to make sure no disparaging marks are on her file, he told her no, she can come back anytime just can't come back as agency because there rules are strict:confused: strange....
Well anyway she has been applying left and right looking for work but hasn't really had even a return call or interview, only 1 out of i guess 5-7 applications I am not sure....she kept asking me my thoughts but I didn't know....She found a job after not completing the contract so evidently she has good references. I agree with her...I am unsure why she hasn't gotten any call backs....I told her it is the economy--I am not sure...What are your thoughts??? Usually an experienced nurse who applied to 5 jobs would hear something in the past. She hasn't heard a thing, for the exception of one place. What gives? Is it the economy--kinda scary.
