grossmont college waiting list

Published

I've been on the Grossmont waiting list for a year and a half now. Estimated start date is fall of 2007...anyone else?? I mainly see posts from people in programs or people still taking pre req's. Looking for others in limbo here in san diego like myself.

I guess the person who told me December was wrong. I just got a rejection email today. I can't believe that I didn't even make alternate. At SD City I at least made alternate. I have a score of 81 with the new multicriteria. My GPA is 3.8 it's so wrong that my sister-in-law who has a 3.0 only has one semester left in her program in Illinois! I wish I would have known how impossible it was going to be to get into these programs in CA. I never would've wasted years of my life and worked so hard to get those prerequisites done! I'm very angry and bitter now. Oh well, on to plan B...

Same with me, o well, I'm on plan D already....... I'm smart, but it doesn't necessarily translate on paper. Good luck with everything

I just graduated from SD city and want to say don't give up! As an alternate you still have a good chance at getting in. Do they tell you first alternate? second? give you a number or something? From what I understand they are still taking 50% from the wait list and many of those people will not reply because they are too busy with life after having waited three years.

For those who haven't applied in North County, Palomar is always an option and a really good hard program too. :) I had a friend graduate from there last year.

By the way, I really liked SD City. I hope you get in :heartbeat

WOOT WOO! I got into City this fall. I don't know if it was from the wait list (It'll be two years in August) or the multicriteria. I don't care! Just when I'd given up all hope and started on my plan B. I had to read the email 5 times and then have my boyfriend read it.

Faeriewand, do you have any advice on teachers. Those to avoid and those to try to get? Any advice at all will be appreciated. Thanks! :D

Congrats Jens2010! I got into City as well! I'm so excited!!

Congratulations Emeraldstar! :w00t: I'm so excited too! Were you waiting long to get in? What orientation are you going to? I'm going to Tuesday, 5/24. :yelclap:

Dianah, I will not violate the TOS :D There really are no bad teachers at City College. :heartbeat

San Diego City College is a great program! :nurse: All the teachers are really good and really know their stuff. I graduated in May last year. The teachers really care about having a good program and educate the students well. No one is a slacker LOL :smokin:

Jens and EmeraldStar I"m so glad you got in!! All your hard work has paid off! :yeah:

Now put yer skates on!!! ;)

Thanks Jen and Faeriewand!

I feel like I can breathe a sigh of relief now :D This was my first time applying so I'm fortunate that there was no more waitlist. As for orientation, I'll be attending the one on Tuesday as well. :)

I'm graduating from City in May. There is definitely no slacking. Congrats on getting in! I know how excited you both must be!

Congratulations on your impending graduation craziechiq! :) I'm the one who keeps sending out emails to the DON about jobs for new grads! :) And then she sends them to everyone! LOL Someone yelled at me to stop telling everyone about the jobs I keep finding! hahaha :D In the California forum I've started a thread about new grad jobs 2011. Come on over!

I was in the rn program for two years!!! It sucks! The instructors are awful to you, and your clinical instructors are even worse! I dropped out because I basically had a breakdown and was getting B's! from the moment you get in, all they do is threaten to kick you out! Trust me, go to an accelerated program. Some of the smartest people in the program were kicked out over stupid things! I wouldn't go there for free! If you want to be in mental torture from the abuse, then wait it out! I am going to be enrolling in another program this fall!
