Just found this website..Im in love! I am signing up for spring semester next week. I had no idea what teacher to pick. That really makes a diff.Anyway, look up your school and they will have student reviews of professors.
I've used this site a lot. This semester I chose all my classes based on it. I look at all the factors that are included, not just how hard they are. I like to read other student's comments about how the class is set-up, how helpful the teacher is if you need help, etc. This is my most favorite semester ever!
I use this site on occassion. It just gives you a slight overview.
On a humorous note. I got the following email from one of my teachers a few months after the class endded about the site:
Hello Everyone,
I was taking a break from prepping for this coming week's classes and came
upon a web site called "ratemyprofessors.com" I would like to invite you
to go to the site and add your comments regarding your opinion about my
teaching. There are very few comments for many of Century's professors,
and only 4 for me - two are very derogatory and potentially libelous; they
don't reflect what I received on the opinion forms you completed for me,
which were also completed anonymously and not seen until after the course
grading was complete. If you could take a minute to go to this site, I
would appreciate it! Negative opinions are, of course, fair (although
harder on the ego), but comments like my "doing too much acid in the 60's"
are just plain unfair. Besides, I was a just a cute little kid in the 60's!
Thanks for your help. Drop me a line sometime and let me know how you are!
Pam
This is an interesting site that can be useful as well.
It shows the grade percentages given by the professors to the students.
For example:
chemistry 101
Prof Brown--- A:32%, B: 49% C: 18% D:0% F: 1%
The website says it gets the grades directly from the participating colleges!
I wish I had seen this site before I took A&P with a professor with a history of only 4% of his sutdents getting A's. Thankfully, I busted butt and got an A in his class, but he was an extremely difficult teacher.

I considered the info on this site when choosing instructors this semester. I'd only pay attention if there are more than 5 separate ratings for an instructor, and only if it contains specific info. Example, my algebra instructor is from another country and nobody can understand her. That would have been good to know.
