Members are discussing the accreditation and acceptance of BSN and MSN degrees from GCU in different states, particularly focusing on the requirement of a preceptorship for BSN programs. There are concerns about certain states not accepting GCU BSN degrees, while others share experiences with the capstone course and offer tips for scholarly activities. Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.
Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.
Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.
Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.
I SURVIVED the double dip!!!! I am now half-way through the program. Now I get 2 days to clean my house, then start Leadership on Monday. I peeked in the classroom and my instructor seems nice. She has around a dozen handicapped cats that she rescued, so she can't be that bad. I am relieved to not have a CLC in this class. The break will be nice.
Prism - how did your final Ethics CLC turn out?
Yay, you did it!!
Did? Did you say how "did" your final CLC turn out? As in, past tense? You are presuming we have STARTED????? Oh please don't get my bleeding ulcer riled up again, I'm sitting here doing my final DQ for this class (due in 90 minutes, haven't even looked at it), avoiding the trauma and drama of the the CLC that never was
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. I really am. I'm so mad at a those idiots.
Sorry Prism. No words for this one! I hope everything turns out OK. Keep us posted.

Yeah, her team was a CLC nightmare. Complete idiots and that's putting it lightly:devil:
That is why we all HATE CLCs!!!! - especially in Ethics where the group project is 55% of your grade. You would think the school would come up with a better option because they really are not fair to those people who have integrity and actually care about their grade.
I really lucked out. I had a buddy, but even then only a handful turned in garbage. But to have three be nut jobs? Yikes!
Okay, it's done. Turned in. Don't wanna talk about it. I'm traumatized. :throcomp:
YAY!!! THANK YOU LORD!!! FINAL FOR STATISTICS CLASS!!! 92.9%
So Happy, Happy, Happy!!!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice to have it behind you??
I think 4 days later I can finally say hooray I too am done with stats! 100% is possible, use your tutors students, and don't forget the free 10 hours of Thinking Storm tutoring they will explain it until you get it! Vacation is behind me (yes I took vacation the last week of stats, I'm crazy but worked way ahead so all I had to do was the DQ responses and a few of those I was able to do ahead too).
PM me if you had the BEST research instructor. Yes I'm taking a breather from classes for 2 weeks, I need it after all of that. I hope Research is better.

I went with WGU first but was told due to my transcripts, it would take me 3 years to finish!!! I talked to GCU next and they told me 13 months... So I took WGU off my list. Too bad because they are cheap.
