Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

I had a tutoring session tonight on my current assignment about subheadings...2 minutes in the tutor asked if I was a 4.0 student. :bookworm::yes:;) I don't get that grade by paying $19.99 either!:lol2::sneaky: I need to stop reading some of these other threads!

I wish I only had to pay $19.99 for my diploma. Well, I do want it to be real.

Well, you know we all overpaid for our degree. One person said we paid close to 80 thousand. I need to quit reading them as well. They are not based on fact, and are mean spirited and spiteful. I just thank God I don't work with people who are that snobby or disrespectful toward others they see as less worthy because the program was online. The profit vs no profit thing argument bothers me. My oldest three went to state U's and the runaround and inept people they have to deal with..ugh. Not to mention Masters students teaching the class, and the President of the schools making a few million a year. Yeah...those non profit schools are great!

WE know that we burn the midnight oil, completing papers and work HARD for our degree. Our families miss us, and we have no social life. I almost wish it was handed to us for 19.99!!

Are the instructors instructed to be as vague as possible in their responses to questions on the group and individual forums? I see this on a consistent basis. Just curious

I don't want to respond to the student either because I don't know if the teacher doesn't want that. What have you guys done in the past?

I will reply to the student if I can. The instructors don't seem to get mad about it. They usually say thank you.

If you haven't noticed, I'm very opinionated:woot: so I have answered questions for the students and have had them answer mine.

Some instructors can be really vague or give you some answer that makes no sense and leave you scratching your head :wacky:.

However, I did have one that called me because she thought I could be better served if she gave me a verbal vs. a written answer.

Hey guys! Anyone ever heard off starting their next class a week early so they are actually overlapping and doubled up for just the one week? Thinking about asking if I can do this in order to catch up with a friend and take classes with her. Although it would be doubling in the last week of Health Assessment, when there are 3 DQ's and 2 assignments.

Not sure who did this, murse maybe? But someone did. Are you guys going to have the same instructor too?

Hi rainyn, is the 2nd class Community Health? If so, AND if they haven't changed the class set-up, this may be ideal. I just looked at my previous schedule/assignments and it appears there was no assignment due in the first week of CH - am I looking at it wrong? There were DQs, but I show my first assignment being due the 2nd week (epidemiology paper; choose between TB, chicken pox, etc). Mine was a while ago though, so check with others here who have recently taken CH/PH - is the first week still just DQs? If so, you could totally do this, get moving on the stuff for the last week of HA now (work ahead on the movie character powerpoint, you can do that any time). Good Luck! ;)

Yeah, that is the plan. I'm going to call my adviser on Monday to find if I can do this and get into the same class as my friend.
