Members are discussing the accreditation and acceptance of BSN and MSN degrees from GCU in different states, particularly focusing on the requirement of a preceptorship for BSN programs. There are concerns about certain states not accepting GCU BSN degrees, while others share experiences with the capstone course and offer tips for scholarly activities. Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.
Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.
Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.
Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.
Just waiting for this weeks participation grade to be posted and I am FINISHED with school! I made it through with a 4.0!! I should celebrate this

Of course you got a 4.0. Remember we go to a diploma mill, and for 19.99 you get a degree!
Now seriously...........
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And yes, you go celebrate by sleeping in and going to bed early! (and go buy some champagne!).
So Winterwhite, did you start CH this week?
Yes I did, on Monday...with a horrible virus that I went to urgent care for today, got 2 liters of fluid, phenergan and solumedrol IV...I feel like I did all night last night...puke! I think there was someone back a bit that did a 5 week stint sick...so there right now! My brain is trying to figure out a focus for the CLC (the community paper). My brain is dead!

Oh Noooooo! How awful! Yes, that sickie was Ms.tokmom, during Ethics, I believe it was, (or "Barfics", as she likely remembers it )
You're only in week 1, you should take 48h and recover completely - do it now while you can, if I remember correctly, the last 2 weeks of that class was a killah

Yeah, that was me. Lovely Campylobactor, diarrhea like non other and trying to write papers with a 102 fever. I have to thank Pandora though. She was in the CLC and did all of editing I was supposed to help with. Isn't it amazing what fluids can do? LOL!!
Hopefully you have group members that understand and help out.

I work today, and then I have decided that I'm taking Monday off, off, off! Results should be back on Monday... (Zofran, a girls bestfriend!).
I'm hoping that someone will take the lead this go around! I think that this class is going to be sneaky everything due the last two weeks! I have my paper done except conclusion for week 2. So I think that later this week I will look at week 5 and do at least something on it!
"Barfics"....LOLOLOL

No fever, so thankful for that, I do NOTHING with a fever (rarely have them is probably why)!
Just got put in a group yesterday so hopefully it will be a strong, fast, motivated (leanmeanfightingmachine) group....Ha!
I had to go back in for more tests on Friday, I think the PA nearly fell over after finally recognizing who I was (sans barf face, glasses, or kinky ponytail..replaced by contacts, a smile, and softly curled hair )
You poor thing. Thank goodness for zofran. It helped me too, though good ol vistaril knocked me into next Sunday and made me sleep through bathroom runs, lol. I had no choice but to write papers like you. They were not great, but I made it through the class.
Hope the PA finds the cause and back on your feet you go!
