Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.
Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.
Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.
OK. I need advice from anyone at this point. I plan to double up on my next 2 courses because I need to get out of school earlier than later due to divorce/health insurance issues. I have already taken Professional Development, Stats, Spirituality and Research. What are the next two EASIEST classes? Since I have to double up, I don't want to mix anything too intense. A friend told me that she thought her recent Ethics class was easy. How is Patho? I have always liked classes like that, but I have not seen any comments about it here on the boards.
I'd talk to your advisor and see what they have to say. They will let you know which classes you can double up on. Mine advised to not double up patho
Man, 3 classes from being done and I JUST NOW figure out that we can see a list of our future teachers!
Thanks JRich. I decided to double up on Family and Ethics. I was advised against doubling up on Patho from my advisor as well.

Hey, where can you see that? I managed to get the same teacher that JRich has for capstone but how can you tell who your teacher will be?
Go to the tab "academics" on the left side of the screen that has all your info on the GCU website. You will see a tab for "Your class schedule." The instructors names are posted as the classes are assigned.
Yep, what Noodles said. I have another one for Capstone, but am looking to change to who tokmom and JRich had!

Wow! Gosh darn it! My next class is the last one but that is useful! I will keep looking at it until I'm in the class next week to make sure I don't get switched to another teacher. I should have access to my capstone by Thursday next week. I'll tell you I can't wait to be done with this busy Trends & Issues class, I've been team leader for most of these group projects and I can't wait to be done! Thanks for the info! ?
I didn't know this either, nice! Thanks Noodles!
Hi guys! I have been following the GCU threads for a long time now. In fact tokmom's initial thread is what helped me make up my mind to do the RN-BSN program at GCU. Anyhow I am in my last week of Professional Dynamics and have enjoyed the class. I am getting ready to start Family Centered Health Promotion next week and have Renita Holmes as my instructor. I was wondering if anyone has had her and if she was good? Please PM me if you have any feedback about her. I would really appreciate it! Also if you guys have the names of good instructors for the other classes especially Patho I would really appreciate it if you could PM me. I know JRich and tokmom both said they had great instructors for their Capstone so if you guys could PM the name of that instructor that would be great too! Thanks! All of your post have been so encouraging, informational and helpful!

Welcome ewes! Yes, I think tokmom should get a reimbursement for her tuition based on the number of referrals! I'm a tokmom convert too!
I'm not familiar with the instructor you listed, so no help here (sorry). BUTTTT, please please refrain from using any instructors' names or even initials on this (or any) thread. No potential identifiers whatsoever - none, nada, nil, zippo.
Welcome on in, strap in, you're in for a wild ride!
