Grand Canyon University RN to BSN Reviews

Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

Started plugging all the papers together tonight. Just need week 4 assignments graded so I can plug those into the final paper and write the abstract. I'm not gonna lie. I REALLY do not want to proof read this paper. If it repeats itself I am fine with it. Oh, I should MAYBE write a conclusion as well....

Alright, those assignments were graded and I have plugged them into the final paper. Tokmom, do I need a conclusion for this paper?

Question, I have never been this close to word count when writing an assignment...so...do the references count in the total word count?

References don't count. You can always ask the instructor if they are strict on word count too. Some are, some aren't.

Nope. Title page and Reference pages are subtracted. Besides, I always make it a point at the beginning of every class to ask the Instr how they feel about word counts (cause I have a tendency to go waaaaaaay over). I've never been told to reign it in, but you never know, `cause as we all know each instructor has their own set of rules.

Alright. Wrote the abstract and the conclusion. Now to just wait till Monday to submit it!!! I am not looking to see how much repetition is in the paper. I am WELL over the word count, but I do not care.

So your paper is in the final form?!?!?!?!

Don't worry about word count. Diana doesn't care. My paper was 7 thousand and some change.

wow thanks PurpleMyst! Tokmom, You dont remember these? This is in my second class, 3rd week assignment for Family Centered Health.. I know, its been so long right?

Vaguely, lol. I just did the papers and nothing was every pointed out by the instructor that an assignment was a benchmark assignment. Interesting!

Some people did them and others did not. I used a conclusion from the problem statement and then added a few sentences. It was very short.

Since I do not want to proof read and edit for redundancy my paper is now in final form!!!! Final word count is 7,691 words. I really don't understand how this could have been in the 5,000 word limit. I also just finished writing my answers to week 5's DQ questions. So all I need to do is submit this stuff come Monday morning. Have a charge nurse sign the capstone review thing (electronically) and then email it to the school!! Oh, and do the DQ replies next week as well.

I commend you for not going through that paper again, lol. I could not help it. Diana told me to not overdo it, because it had been pretty much graded. However, the OCD person that I am, I culled some of the redundancy.

I thought the same thing about the word count. Three papers have a max count of 2000 words, so therefore, even if you stay within the count, you will be over 5000.

Let me know what your tii score is. I was shocked to see mine at 0%, since the other papers had 1-3% respectively. I guess my culling killed the tii score.

Next week will go by sooo slowly, lol. It's like the last week of school! LOL!!

Since you are essentially done, I will say CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!
