Members are discussing the accreditation and acceptance of BSN and MSN degrees from GCU in different states, particularly focusing on the requirement of a preceptorship for BSN programs. There are concerns about certain states not accepting GCU BSN degrees, while others share experiences with the capstone course and offer tips for scholarly activities. Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.
Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.
Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.
Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.
4mranch...how's stats??? I'm still in my first week and I like it; however, I know it's going to get tougher!
jjPedsRN Hi! I'm just in my first class at GCU but I'm trolling around trying to pick up info on instructors, etc. Who was your Ethics instructor if I might ask? my email is [email protected]
:) thank you so much
Hi Flames, thanks a bunch for the youtube link, what a huge help. Greatly appreciated.
Hi Patty. Well, I would have to say so far that stats is quite challenging. I think what is making it so tough is that all this information is new. The previous clases I had a pretty good understanding of the subject matter, but this stats stuff sometimes feels like another language. Good luck with your upcoming classes. Be prepared for a couple of big projects in the Community Health class!
I still have Intro to research, ethics/spiritual, leadership, patho, trends and then Captsone!! Anyone have isntructors they would reccomend? I'm still a newbie to this site so could you send your recomendations to [email protected]? Thanks.
I am in my last week of Stats this week cant say I will miss it much! However, I had better luck with it then Ethics (I took both together). I thought Ethics was going to be more patient related and I was very wrong. I will be starting Nursing research next week anyone have an instructor that stuck out to recommend for it?
Hello, I am new to GCU. I'm about to finish my 1st class. Is there anyone else taking classes at this time? I would like to know how to find out what instructors are good and how do I request them? Thank you.

To request a prof....just ask ur student advisor 1-2 weeks out from class start. There was a list floating around..not sure how accurate it was..as I had a prof on the "avoid list" and she was fine...she graded a bit tougher, but she was fine
