Members are discussing the accreditation and acceptance of BSN and MSN degrees from GCU in different states, particularly focusing on the requirement of a preceptorship for BSN programs. There are concerns about certain states not accepting GCU BSN degrees, while others share experiences with the capstone course and offer tips for scholarly activities. Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.
Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.
Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.
Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.
Hi all...I'm just about ready to take that leap to start my rn to bsn at GCU. I've been read these posts for a month now. I read WGU then GCU and I'm at the that point where I have to make a decision:barf02: Is anyone starting at GCU in October 2016? I'd like to hear how or why you chose GCU. Reading your posts is definitely helping me think that it is doable but tough. I do want to go on and get my msn and that's also why I'm defintely leaning toward GCU instead of WGU. Any advice VERY welcome
Does HLT 314 Health Care Systems have a CLC ? And how tedious is it? Thanks!
Started and dropped it......found it to be soooooo boring.....pretty sure their was a CLC....dropped it and took HLT 317 instead..which was a very very very basic research class....which it to had a CLC.

Why GCU: School reps doid not hound me with phone calls/email......evaluated my transcripts for free and they did it fast.....thought the price was fair.....liked the 5 week class length....no tests.....its a brick & mortar school.....best of luck
Thanks Flame9...I signed the papers tonite so I'm taking the plunge NEXT week! Any ideas on a good laptop for all the paper writing??

PERRLA is a must!! APA PERRLA software helps students properly format papers in APA style and create citations and references - PERRLA.com Whats nice about it now....it saves ur refs up in the cloud..very handy....
thanks alot! Flames9 are you still in the program?
Hi all. I am just finishing my 4th class at GCU, yes the Community Health class. This last weeks assignment was a doozy. Starting Statistics on Monday - yikes. I have been lurking here for a while and decided to jump in. I've enjoyed some good posts from this forum.
If anyone else is starting Statistics on Monday let me know - maybe we'll be in the same class. It has been nice to see some familiar names as I've gone through the 3 previous classes. Only a couple of glitches with the group projects - not my favorite things to do.
thanks alot! Flames9 are you still in the program?
nope....took my time and finished in August 2015
Hi 4mranch. I start next week. Glad you jumped in... I hope some other GCU students share their experiences here. I've been reading these for a month lol...and re-reading! Please keep us updated on statistics:cry: That one is my biggest fear. Many, many years ago I barely passed high school Algebra but I'm counting on my husband to tutor me!
