Members are discussing the accreditation and acceptance of BSN and MSN degrees from GCU in different states, particularly focusing on the requirement of a preceptorship for BSN programs. There are concerns about certain states not accepting GCU BSN degrees, while others share experiences with the capstone course and offer tips for scholarly activities. Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.
Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.
Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.
Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.
Thanks Rob! [
QUOTE=rob4546;8564368]They are really dry but wasn't too bad. Mine were closer to 200-300 for initial responses and 150-200 for responses. Be first and set your post up for easy responses and then respond to all the responses. Done, if that makes any sense....
Yup another CLC deadline passed with not one person in my group turning anything in. Just sent a message to my instructor. This is getting really really old.
You mean you did the entire assignment yourself?
It's the Ethics project with the interviews. They all turned those in but nobody has turned their parts of the paper in even though I said I needed it today. Maybe they are waiting til midnight?
I had the same problem in that class with 1 member of the CLC group...I had to keep texting her on her phone... I did mention to the team forum that I was having trouble with her...the teachers don't really get involved even if you e mail them unless it is really bad..I feel they too hate the CLC asignements
Agree!! Least favorite class so far. :-/
What is NRS 434? I don't know what numbers are vs the name of class. I hated research, was that what you had? I thought Leadership was boring.

health assessment = nrs 434
I am starting Trends on Monday, any advice? Any hard projects that I should be aware of? I haven't heard of the instructor that I have but she says this class is about scholarly writing and seems like a red flag to me... Just paranoid and besides I only have 3 classes left including this.... I think!
PM sent
I didn't think it was bad, just really dry.
Finishing my third week of Trends. Nothing too crazy, but a decent amount of writing is required. The topic is mostly regarding the ACA and the changes to the nursing profession. Of course there is a CLC. No one in my group is thinking about it yet and it is due next week. Crossing my fingers for this one!

Last class I had which was Patho, we had 4 in our CLC group and our instructor wanted the agreement sent by Monday. There was one girl who hardly checked in but said she will do whatever we assign her, and the other never checked into the group til Wednesday. Got ahold of the instructor Tuesday to ask what we do about her. She must of addressed her because she finally replied in our forum that she is sorry but she has a job and will get to her part on the weekend! WTH? A lot of us have jobs and kids and lives too and we manage.
