Grand Canyon University RN to BSN Reviews

Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

Hi Soul!

Welcome to the AN, GCU thread and Lope land (GO LOPES!)

Taking online courses isn't really too bad. You have to be a self starter because there is no instructor glaring at you to get it done, lol.

GCU offers tutors in the writing center and for statistics and such. Instructors are pretty helpful, as are the threads here on AN, which has a variety of grads, beginners and those ready to graduate in the very near future. Everyone here is very helpful via pm or the open forum.

Here is another thread that is very active. I started it a long time ago and it's now over 200 pages, so head to the end for any questions, etc.. :)

In my second class and doing very well. No real problems other than setting my schedule so that I can be an effective learner. I may complain a little but it is really blowing off steam. Paper writing is not fun, but better than studying hours and hours for a measly 50 question test like in nursing school. You focus on a topic, sit down and write the paper, and then move on.

If you don't understand something as here and people will be able to explain..... We all are willing to help.

Don't you think that the internet has leveled the playing field for everyone?

I feel if you can use a search engine and read you can be a success. (Especially if you are reading our AN topics, lol).

Winter, enjoy the cookie baking, or no baking in this case, lol. I have gone into overdrive with my knitting and baking. Two things I missed dearly when I was in school. My kids were shell shocked too see home baked goods, lol. I feel as though my life is almost at an even keel again. My house is cleaner, and my kids have fresh baked cookies. :)
