Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
Week 3 is the only week that has only one project due, but I think that is the week all the extra stuff is due, aka as more work, lol. I don't count week 5 because that's the final paper.
And...not to burst anyone's bubble, but you also have to have extra items as well to prove your case since you are building a proposal. I am submitting an executive summary to the board, so I need an executive summary. I have a ppt on compassion fatigue and burnout that I'm using in my workshop I'm proposing, so I had to do a ppt on CF and BO aimed at education. Hanging bulletins in the break room? Better produce that too, plus anything else you would use. Survey, questionnaire, etc.. It ALL has to be produced and not hypothetical and turned in with the paper.
You cannot use random websites for research unless they are evidenced based like ANA, and AACN, AMSN, nursing center for theory. Your books are great and I'm SO HAPPY I highlighted as I read. I have gone back and quickly found pieces I need for fillers, simply by clicking on highlights. :) I find myself bouncing around in the research book the most, but am pulling bits and pieces out of others.
The capstone is pieced together, so most of the papers are either 500-800 words, or 1250-2000 each.
Oh, and those pesky dq's too.
Holy dickens you are making me nervous. 3 things due in 1 Sunday.... I better look for my research articles again. Oh I am not excited.
I'm not trying to scare people, but there is NO information out there about what is expected. You will do fine, but the key piece is getting those 15 articles together and an idea of your PICO etc.
JJ,
if it is due, and you have asked many times, submit anyway without her information. Don't get behind because of one person. Those instructors are on that forum sneaking peeks and if you keep your correspondence open and not on text, etc.. she will see the slacker person.
I figure if someone misses the due date on the CLC, then so be it. It will show when their information is not included and it leaves a big hole. I get more wrapped up with the project. I hope she comes through for you then.

Oh I had no clue how many articles we needed. I will have to make sure I had that many for my question.
We should have a post strictly for CLC rants. I bet there are plenty of them!!
I think one of the reasons I H8 them so much is because it's a crap-shoot every time (who you'll get), and you really have no time ( Just once, once please, I'd like to be the person that does 3 slides and turns them in to someone I can trust and just be done with my piece and go have a dang weekend!
Okay, I'm done.
Today I logged on to the GCU website and I noticed a two and a half month lull between my first and second class. I like to think this is an easy fix, if I'm off track, someone please put me back on the right path. This is not conducive to my plan of finishing in 14 months. or less.
That has to be a mistake and will just take a call to your advisor to fix. There are tons of classes that start every single Monday, to the point that if you're in one class and you need to switch, there are plenty of others that started that same day that you can swap to - I've done this myself, as have others here. One time I called and she said I had 8 other classes I could choose from (and those were just the ones that weren't full, there were more going on). And that's only one class on one given Monday, imagine the sheer numbers of classes in all subjects that are started q-Monday? There's no way on this planet that you would have to wait 2.5 months between classes. As a matter of fact, I tried to ask for a specific Stats instructor a month in advance and my advisor told me they can't do that so far away, have to wait until closer to the date. If you get any pushback from your advisor (which I can't imagine you would), you should switch advisors. Mine actually said to me once, "This is your education, you are driving this bus, I'm just here to make sure it all happens the way it should. You call me when anything isn't right".

I was just searching google to see if I could find the syllabus for the capstone (nope) not that I have time to work on any of it before hand with the extra stuff my patho teacher is making us do. I was hoping to see what I was getting into. I really don't wanna end up getting all the way through and then tanking it at the capstone. Oh well, I will make it through. Hopefully in 1 piece.
