Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
That's exactly what I was thinking... the positive side of it being I know everyone in my class so group projects can actually be discussed face to face... I just kind of feel like I will give it a shot and if it doesn't seem to be helpful I will just switch to all online. I get a 30% discount doing the once a week on Monday nights thing vs 20% for only online.

Guess that is a savings of around $150 a class (based on $1500) Of course u have to fork over gas $$$..stopping for coffee....maybe get in a car accident, insurance rates go up,lol Maybe going in person may help the group projects....then again may just waste more time sitting in a class room getting frustrated! Was fortunate, my groups were fairly decent, ya some slackers...1 gal did zero.....Which worked to our favor, lol good luck
I liked the online format....Found it very easy to follow and every class shared the same format (for the most part)
2 Discussion Questions (DQs) due each week. 1 due Wed at midnight, the other Friday at midnight and you had to respond to a certain # of other students responses.....all very basic.....
Most classes had a group project (CLC), which was usually a powerpoint. If u had a good group, was a simple task....bu tof course there always seems to be a slacker or a non-team player, lol
Most weeks one has 1 paper due...sometimes 2..but usually just 1. paper length could be as short as 500 words, or as much as 2000..I would say on average the length was around 1200 words
Support: Librarians were excellent....could live chat with them or email for help...Great library resources. I for the most part had fairly decent profs, never had an issue with any.
Adviser: I had 3 or 4 of them..some were better than others..last 1 was useless, but really didnt need her for much, which was a good thing, lol But they really have no impact on anything...Only time I really used them was in a few cases to get the prof I wanted.
I think GCU provides a very good learning environment, with few surprises...as all classes follow the same format with DQs and papers!

Did not even know that was an option...I hate going to class and listening to a prof, lol, but I guess some do learn better that way. In the time it takes 1 to drive to clas..could have the weeks DQs completed, lol Hopefully u get a response from someone that is going that route
