Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Nursing Students Online Learning

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Every paper I did--besides Capstone----was done in 1 day......For some reason Sunday at noon was a good time to start, lol

So glad I am not alone...Crunch time is when my creative juices get flowing! In the first class we talked about what habits we were going to change, and I vowed to avoid procrastinating  Yup, that lasted until about half way into the second class.

Lol! True! Especially with 15% of "Submitted to GCU papers" and underlined Running head and page number on every page, references in parenthesis, class name and section, article "the" all over etc.etc.etc.....

I once busted the 20% mark, simply changed my title, and not a single thing else, and was below the magic number.

(on Sunday night at 11:42pm...)

It sounds funny when you read it here :)

But, last week due to this TII :banghead: with its wired way of determining similarities I submitted my paper literally at 11:59 pm :nailbiting:

That was my first time dealing with such situation at the very last moment. I think I got some grey hair that night :angrybird10:

WOW! cool! You've got a trick with that TII :)

I thought that you have to keep title exactly as it says in the assignment section.

I have always used a different title for my papers until recently. Now it is just similar to the assignment description. Why do I need to be creative on a title. My last paper came back with 1% from TII and the only hit was the title/running head. Guess I am doing something correct.

I usually do not direct quote now, I reword everything and cite really well.

I have a question about the Health Organization Case Study assignment in Leadership. It says to use Harvard Business Review or Hoover's Company Records through the GCU library. I have tried both of them but haven't come up with anything from Harvard and very little info from Hoover's. Am I not putting in my search criteria correctly? The organization that I chose has some info on their website but not enough to answer all of the required topics the rubric is asking for. Any advice??

I bailed on those and just found a company that fit the criteria and had the answers by web searches. When I found one I was familiar with I used it, a company I used to work for - when I was a baby nurse, Adventist Health West. :cat:

Hi derk, I also didn't use those recommended resources (though if I had, I'd have called a librarian to walk me through finding whatever I needed - they're the BOMB). I did what Winter did; I picked a certain Catholic goliath because they're so prevalent in my area. Honestly I found most of my stuff by googling the heck out of it and even found some cool videos on youtube that were official releases from the Prez & CEOs that talked about specific things like staffing, resources, and everything that was in the rubric. That posed its own challenges though because then I had to learn how to reference YouTube and podcasts!

Do you feel for the most part you are searching, searching for info... and the writing part is the easy part?

if u know how to find proper articles....ur laughing......in the GCU library..they offer many resources on how to conduct research.....

Same here. I just found an alternative one on my own.

Hey guys!!!! Sorry I have been MIA....I hope all of you are doing well! I have to catch up on all the posts. I am in the last class I will EvER take at GCU then moving on to taking 2 DSST exams instead of 2 more classes. I am so done with GCU.
