Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

I'm in patho right now! I'm procrastinating on the assignment. Which has come back to bite me in the butt now that I'm in the US and not in Europe. I could work until 7 am on Monday to get my assignments in on time, now I only have until 11 pm on Sunday. I have to take one class after the capstone. I need a little help deciding. I can take any upper division class (300/400). The thing is the ones that are most interesting I haven't taken the prereq. Like I was thinking about taking a Spanish class, but obviously I need the lower levels first. Right now I am scheduled to take AMP-450V leadership and vocation. The nursing leadership was SUCH a boring 5 weeks I am not sure if this AMP-450V will also be boring. Does anyone have experience with this?

I have to take 2 upper levels after Capstone....One of them they have listed is the same as you....I have not really looked whats available....My adviser emailed me the class list, but have not really looked at it yet.

Here in Quito Ecuador, we are 2 hrs ahead of Phoenix, lol

IMO I would take the quicker, boring class. Anything to get it done at this point. It's only five weeks, right?

If I can find something that would be interesting, would be nice..make it a bit less painful, lol

Flames, I keep meaning to ask you what you're doing in Ecuador? I'm sure you've said before, but I can't remember what I did yesterday so that's out. Are you military?

I think I fit in the fried category!! Just finished week 5 of Community Health. Everything is done, I just need to "submit". So glad it's over. Now, on to another fun class...Stats! Any brilliant pointers for someone who knows nothing about the subject? I did get one of the preferred teachers so I hope she will be easy on me! I bought 2 other books on stats for health care professionals that were mentioned earlier. Other than that, I will give it a try!

derkfamily, I just finished stats today and I start Spirituality. I am not sure who your instructor is but I had one that was recommended by folks here. He was awesome and engaging! Besides that, get a tutor through Thinkingstorm and they will walk you through each problem and you will be fine. It is free tutoring so use it! I used the tutor 3 times for a total of an hour and a half and it was totally worth it. The DQ are very boring, as once someone answers it, they are all the same and it is hard to come up with original ideas but just grin and bear it! You got this!

I'm in Leadership right now and I would avoid anything that sounds remotely close to it like the plague!

57 minutes. I had 57 minutes left before my assignment would have been late this week. Oh my, I can never do that again. It's like I got a disease or something and I can't help myself. It keeps getting closer with each class. Somebody smack me outta it! :writing: :sorry:   :dead:

Owch, BTDT! You will slap yourself out of it as soon as you go to submit your masterpiece to TII at 2300 and it's Report Awaited, Report Awaited, Report Awaited... then you go to the GCU IT/Tech FB page and you see a bunch of people asking questions like, "Is TII down or something? I've been waiting for 3 hours!" I've done that one too many times... Then when the TII Gods finally decide to grant you a Report Received, your elation turns to freakout mode when the score is 21% and you only have 8 minutes left to get in there and chop a couple pink sentences out, resubmit to TII (again!), get your 19% back and fling that thing into the dropbox by 2359. Now that's an adrenaline rush! Or a bleeding ulcer, whichever :blackeye:

HA! I wish that was a motivator for me. My case study 2 is 37 minutes late, 200 words over, and only half done.... and I'm on AN. Wheres the emoji with the dunce hat?

I think they call it apathy, LOL. It is a syndrome known to affect GCU students during the latter half of the program.
