Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

i loved hearing about your job and think it sounds really interesting so don't worry about talking too much.
I also love perrla and can't imagine writing a paper without it. It's really easy to use. I really never worked with power points until now. Maybe in your first CLC don't sign up to submit it for your group. You will be able to get a feel for it by viewing your groups power point and adding your part to it. I found it quite easy. I have used you tube like tokmon said and it is helpful for many things. Don't be afraid to ask for help!
I am sorry to be so wordy about my job. I get that way late at night. I am embarrassed as I overshared. Bedside nursing is not for me any longer, I could not keep up that pace physically or mentally. I suspect most of you all are hospital nurses and probably much more up to date.
Overshare? No, I just wanted to put it into perspective as it would deal with your work. I am sure, no matter how mentally or physically unfit you say you are, that you can make changes and priorities to get this done. People that strive for more usually do.
I don't know how to do a power point. Nor do I even understand that assignment at all. There are words I will have to look up on dictionary.com. I do have access to an IT review I can do.. but I hope someone in the group knows how to do it and/or can collaborate with me. I again, hesitate.. not sure I can do this.
Wouldn't stress over this at all, you will be able to get through making a power point page or two just by following a few online demonstrations. It doesn't have to be Nobel worthy, just needs to be complete and on task. I think they usually grade fairly easy for the first (don't hold me to that).
I have done the reading for the first two discussion questions and also have my responses saved on Word. I was told not to post until Monday... also I hope and pray this will give me more time to delve into the paper that is needed and review PP.
I always have this done on Sunday before the class starts. I prepare most of my discussions ahead of time and save them for use each day. After my first posts are completed I then pick two posts each night and write the response for posting the next day. If for some reason I cannot write something that day I have responses completed and have time to post.
I got in the habit of writing my DQ1 and DQ2 for posting on Monday, 2 responses on Tuesday, 2 on Wednesday, and 2 on Thursday, and done with that. I sometimes respond if someone responds to my initial post, but I don't feel obligated. Make sure there are a total of 4 entries for each of the discussion posts. (1 initial post, 3 responses)

That is exactly what I did, or I would save them overnight into the draft section on LC and post them from work. :)
What is IRB?
Is this the research summary and ethical considerations paper?
Did you pull your article off the GCU library?
Is it peer reviewed or qualitative or quantitative research? That's all you need from what I'm understanding of the question.
I never bothered to see if it was accepted for the public. If it was on the GCU website then it was fair game.
I have a question. I am in intro nursing research W2. I chose a research article for an assignment then how can I know this article approved by IRB? the one I chose doesn't say "accepted for the public..." This is bothering, before verifying this, I can't start my paper...
It should say somewhere in the article that the research was approved by the Institutional Review Board/IRB. Does your research article involve human subjects? Not all research requires IRB oversight. Also, other countries may use different names for the same/similar requirements, such as independent ethics committee/IEC, ethical review board/ERB or research ethics board/REB. If those words are not mentioned anywhere in your article, chances are it either wasn't, or didn't require it based on the type of research it was. Or, it may make me question the article altogether in which case I'd pitch it and start with a new one where it is clearly documented.
Have you ever called the GCU library for article search help? Those people R*O*C*K, you just give them a description of what you're looking for and they will stay with you on the phone while they search through possibilities and you say Yay or Nay, then they'll email them directly to you. I wasted a whole Saturday once trying to find something, and finally called them and they found what I needed in 5 minutes. Keep in mind these assignments rarely change, so the library folks (who all have Masters degrees btw) have searched your subject 100x before and totally know what you need.

Ain't that the truth! I always busted my hiney getting everything completed by Friday in week 5 at the latest, so I had a few days to prepare for the next class and have a day of downtime.
There were those first days of a class when I eyed that syllabus and about gave birth to a small farm animal when I saw the assignments. I was afraid I couldn't finish all of it, work, and do all the other things in life that needed to be done. However, I pulled up those 100% cotton panties and focused. Once I started reading and delving into the guts of the assignment, I realized it wasn't all that difficult if I didn't do a total freak out.
