Members are discussing gift ideas for a new nursing school graduate. Suggestions include monetary gifts, gift certificates for relaxation services or supplies, nursing-related jewelry, stethoscopes, pens, and practical items like a foot massager, PDA software, or a clipboard. Some members also recommend personalized items like engraved pens or necklaces, while others suggest practical gifts like nursing shoes or a fanny pack filled with essential supplies.
My daughter is graduating from nursing school next month. Any unique ideas for a gift?
She has requested a PDA, and I will probably get her one, but other family members keep asking me for ideas and I have run out.
Thanks,
Sherri
If she doesn't have a good stethoscope, she would probably appreciate having one, especially if she is interested in Cardiology.
I agree about things like a good pair of work shoes, scrubs, and other things that are not work-related, such as a massage, a manicure and pedicure, facial, all the wonderful pampering that we all just love to have.
On the practical side, she could perhaps use a clipboard that has a little calculator attached to it and some pens with red and black ink.
She will need a little insulated bag to carry snacks and lunch, such as yogurt or a sandwich and fruit. She could probably use a water bottle,
too - one that has a top that she doesn't have to remove to take a drink.
Congratulations!!
I would say. gift certificate for the website www.skyscapes.com for all the software she will want to buy for her new PDA. THey can run from 50$ and up. My husband got me a PDA when I graduated and it was the best. I was limited on the software to buy do to money.
Congrats
Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions! In fact many of them sounded pretty darn good for gifts for old and tired nurses like me (especially the foot massage and spa.............aaaaaaah.)
Anyway, again thank you and I just want to say one more thing -- I am so proud of my daughter I could just burst! And I am pretty sure I will cry during the entire ceremony -- my baby a college graduate and a nurse to boot!

A unique gift I have received and given as a gift many times, is the Humanity Bracelet. It can be purchased in pewter, sterling or gold. It has seven, two sided links with the virtues: Loyalty, Unity, Passion, Joy, Kindness, Humor, Hope, Courage, Love, Trust, Honor, Family, Truth and Charity engraved on the links. 'Google' Humanity Bracelet for a variety of sites. The bracelet is a unique keepsake.
