Graduating December 2008??

Published

Hi everyone! Is anyone else graduating from their program this December? If so what classes are you taking in your last semester? And have you started to prepare for the NCLEX? :D

Specializes in L/D.

I also graduated December 11th, I can't believe its over. The hospital that I signed with pays for us to take the Kaplan review class. I start working January 5th.

Hey! Congrats!!! just a question, so are you starting work without passing the NCLEX and getting your license? I guess my question is is it possible to get hired as a New Grad and start working without having sitted for the NCLEX and received the RN license? I'm finishing up my Junior year and I was just wondering...

Specializes in ED.

Graduated last night! It feels weird to be in the no-man's land between student and licensed RN. Still no date for me to take the NCLEX. I should have an authorization to test/schedule soon I hope!

Congrats to everyone else! :yeah:

Specializes in heart failure and prison.

I just graduated on December 12th. :yeah: My last class was leadership & management and critical care. My brain is on vacation now. I am going to prepare after the holidays. My ceremony was beautiful.:yeah:

Yes, you can start working before passing the NCLEX. I live in CA, so it may be different where you live but the BRN sends me an IP license to practice until I sit for the boards. I got hired before even finishing nursing school. Most of the hospitals in my area started interviewing 2-3 weeks before graduation. I start working January 5th, but probably won't take my boards until the end of january.
