HI, I'd like to ask if someone has the same sitch as me and what they did.

I am a graduate of Manila Doctors College last May 2011.

I'm back here in California. I am a permanent resident (green card holder). I have read on the CA.RR.GOV that I do not need to take the Philippine local boards or the cgfns and the toefl exam to take the NCLEX.

I have already accomplished my livescan and sent in my application and paid 150$.

Now they have sent me a letter requiring me with the following things:

1. Class schedule for the nursing program completed at MDC

2. Transcript for all education and training sent from MDC

3. Enrollment forms during my nursing years

4. Clinical rotation schedule and/or student logbook reflecting dates, instructor's signature and location of clinical training completed

5. Social security card

6. Passport and visa

I have no problem with numbers 2,5 and 6. But my the others I don't know how to get. :( I don't have a copy of my class schedules anymore, and so as my enrollment forms for 4 years. and most importantly, the clinical rotation schedule with dates and instructor's signature. :( HOW WERE YOU GUYS ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH THAT? I'm self reviewing for my exam and going to the library everyday, but right now i cant focus because I don't know how to accomplish these things. :(

I REALLY HOPE SOMEONE CAN GIVE ME AN ADVICE ON WHAT'S THE BEST THING TO DO.

Specializes in Medical Surgical.
update: still got denied with the concurrency issue for the cases and theory. decided to move on and apply to another state.

[color=#333333]steps i took to apply for brn nevada:

[color=#333333]1. ordered cgfns-ces online. $335. you can choose to have the $500 expedited one, you'll have results in 10 days. i just took the regular one.

[color=#333333]2. corresponded with my school so they can forward my transcript and breakdown of hours in my subjects needed by cgfns.

[color=#333333]3. livescan fingerprinting $65. and mailed my application downloaded from the nevada brn website. $100

[color=#333333]4. scheduled my english proficiency exam. i took the toefl $175. you can also take ielts. i chose toefl because i have to wait 2 months for the next available date in ielts, while with toefl i was able to take it in a week.

[color=#333333]5. afterwhich cgfns notified me that my credentials were already sent to nv brn, i contacted the board and asked about my application.

[color=#333333]6. they said im eligible and told me to pay $200 at pearsonvue.com/nclex whenever im ready. once you pay, you're required to take it within 3 months.

hi starleviosa!

thanks for the check list. all i need now is for the school to send necessary information to cgfns and have it reviewed. it's a long process but hey, i'll do whatever it takes to get a seat at the exam. guys please be open to working in other states. it doesn't really kill you. if your willing to go back to nursing school for 2-3 years just to meet the california requirements, by all means do what what you must. best of luck to everyone.

hello everyone, i am very confused. ive been reading all posts regarding nclex-rn for california but nothing seems clear. can you please help me out?

I am:

-a dual citizen (american and filipino)

-recent graduate of nursing here in the philippines

-recent local board passer this july 2012.

-currently still living here in the philippines (and can fly back to california anytime)

my question is:

1) where is it most preferable for me to take the NCLEX-RN for the state of california? Here or in california?

2) given that i take my nclex here in the philippines, what website should i browse to know how the process goes?

thankyou in advance!

i hope you can help me. My dad is forcing me to fly back ASAP in ca and just take the nclex there.

Makes no difference where you take it the issues you are going to have is meeting state (BRN) requirements and if you have a good read in this forum you will see many are having issues due to cases not being concurrent. Have you even started the process with the BRN and been approved to sit NCLEX?

Can you say with 101% accuracy that you took ALL your clinicals AND theroretical courses in the EXACT SAME SEMESTER, not a month later, not a year or more later? If you feel and can verify this yourself with a school guide or the dean's office, then, you might have a chance.

Hi! What's your email? I had a few questions regarding Manila Drs. I'm from San Francisco. A 25 year old LVN in California and I'm interested in finishing my RN degree in Manila Doctors.

----Whats your email? I am an american citizen looking to finish my RN at manila doctors. I just had questions regarding the school

I suggest you look at some of the threads in here regarding the concurrency issues of the international graduates and couldn't sit for the NCLEx-RN.Since you are a licensed VN,why don't you just take a bridge program LVN-RN or BSN?Good luck on your future endeavors.:)

Hi! What's your email? I had a few questions regarding Manila Drs. I'm from San Francisco. A 25 year old LVN in California and I'm interested in finishing my RN degree in Manila Doctors.

I'm guessing the reason you want to get your RN degree (BSN) from the Phils even tho' you're already a CA LVN and not going the LVN-RN bridge route or the LVN-BSN is due to: (a). the long waiting list (of 2-3 years) to get enrolled and taking a chance it might not happen in that time frame, (b). if you can get into a LVN-RN bridge program in CA, it's going to be very expensive, like in the $10,000 x 2 or 3 for tuition or ??

Whereas going to the Phils, you can start fairly quickly and for a fraction of the cost of a CA education?

You should realize that attending a PH college at this present time may cause reason(s) for your PH BSN degree to be out of compliance with the CA BON minimum requirements, UNLESS there's been truly 110% that it's been proven with near future PH grads are soon able to pass the CA BON requirements.

Just know you are still at best taking a big chance of getting denied if the CA BON finds one other deficient or flawed course from the PH curriculum, so saving the time and money in PH may be all for nothing.

Hi star.. After paying the Cgfns I have to wait for the reply for their requirements ? Pls help thanks
