Should I apply or do it in a month or two?
I guess its not too soon! I was worried about this also as I have said before but Friday I was officially offered my RN position in the PACU. I have been in the PACU since last year after completing a 8 week externship:balloons:good luck to everyone!
That's great news and hope that I'll be offered a new grad position too and not have to wait til Feb as one recruiter already told me.
Ya think MissJKm that they offered to you because you were already there and familiar w/ teh environment, or b/c they were looking to fill the slot?

I was offered the postion informally last year and was thats how I got my current CNA position. Currently, there isnt even an open position but my manager was allowed to "overhire" because I had done so well during my externship (toot tooting my horn lol)
best of luck to you! R you already working somewhere that you could stay on as an RN? thats always a start

Yes, it would be a start, but no I'm not working anywhere...Have RN will travel! LOL. Congrats to you on your "overhire".
I'd be interested to know how overhiring will affect your hours and options for OT as well as competition for PTO.
From my experience, I would wait until you have a date set for your boards. Every place that I interviewed at before I graduated told me the same thing... "Well, it would be great to hear from you when you take your boards, get back in touch with us then!" I would still look and see what opporitunities are out there, and who knows you may have alot better luck than I did!!

Just rec'd my official offer to start in Oncology/Renal in a couple of weeks. Great hospital. Local (oh well) but the commute is only 30-40 mins (in this town that's superb!) and they love new grads there. I'm finally starting to get excited. Too much stress had me going numb w/ freak.
I should be feeling that RN real soon!

Wow, thanks for the feedback. As I mentioned earlier, one hospital said September and another said wait until I graduate. Hmm, maybe they don't want us graduates, LOL.
