Graduate in December. Apply for jobs now?

Published

Should I apply or do it in a month or two?

Specializes in PACU.
Just rec'd my official offer to start in Oncology/Renal in a couple of weeks. Great hospital. Local (oh well) but the commute is only 30-40 mins (in this town that's superb!) and they love new grads there. I'm finally starting to get excited. Too much stress had me going numb w/ freak.

I should be feeling that RN real soon!

good for you! congrats!!!!:balloons::balloons::balloons:

Specializes in PeriOp, ICU, PICU, NICU.

I graduated late August and had a job nailed in May. It's best to start early!

Well, I graduate in January 2008 and I applied for a job a few weeks ago out of state. I had my interview this morning and I think it went very well. I was told that I would receive a call from HR in a couple of days. I was very shocked to hear that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I guess it's not too soon. I was worried about applying this early, but I just officially got offered the exact position I wanted in the ED yesterday! I interviewed there on the 16th and was offered the job 10 days later. But a few of the other places I have already applied/interviewed at are not deciding until Nov. or Dec. Hope everyone else's job search is going well!

I would start applying now. I made the mistake of waiting until I passed NCLEX to apply for jobs. I graduated December '06 - passed NCLEX in mid-March and started applying for jobs in the beginning of March. I just recently found my first nursing job (7months after NCLEX!).
