  1. Days 8am-6pm! would be wonderful. Currently I work 8am-8pm in PACU:D and love it.
  2. Had a patient in RR the other day--Icecream Walla.
  3. ;)One of our Cardiologists IFXHRTS. IDPRIVNU one of the ICU intensivists.
  4. Hi, would really appreciate it if you could share! Thanks, Lucy
  5. My mother was an ICU nurse for many years before she became and intensivist herself. No one was ever excused from school, work etc. in our home;).
  6. Hi, I used Thelans critical care nursing textbook. If you can check out Barnes and Noble or any local bookstore, there sometimes you can even use the book they have and save your money! Good luck.
  7. Hi, I took the course because while I was an aide, one of the nurses swore by it...but I did see at least two questions that came directly from there. Also it is relatively inexpensive and since it is online you can access it from basically anywhere. As you complete each section you are then able to take the test which gives you immediate feedback! Good luck with your test, I am sure you will pass.
  8. Start applying early. I graduated in May 2006 and our school always hosts a nursing career fair mid February. We were expected to have current resumes handy for the date. As far as I know most of us got interviews early on. Good luck to you all!
  9. Start to finish 4 years traditional BSN program, I decided to enjoy my summers so I did not sign up for ANY classes! I graduated in May of 2006 and didn't take my boards until August of 2006. Did I mention that I love my summers!
  10. First try BSN program, New Jersey.
  11. I have a bulldog named lucy and at the time I was listening to Fergie's "humps" song so I began to sing it around the house and my bully lucy would always come running! Showing off her lovely lady lumps (many rolls) ...so I decided to use lucy-lumps instead...
  12. As with all of the posters above, my family and I will keep you in our prayers. Please keep us posted.
  13. John, Congratulations on finishing nursing school and of course conquering the NCLEX monser! When I interviewed for my current position I did not hear from HR until about a week later, it is not unusual. Good for you to contact HR and find out what's up. I wish you all the best and I am pretty sure that you will get the job you really want. Take care!
  14. So sorry to hear what happened to you... one of my very good friends was academically dismissed from our BSN program during our senior year. She is now an LPN working on her RN. How far along were you? Are your pre-reqs completed/in good standing? Hang in there and please don't give up, nursing school is pretty tough without factoring in all of the pressure of a passing grade. Search for some more options and I am sure you will find the answers you need. Take care and all the best.
