  1. Thanks for all the help. John
  2. I just finished nursing school and passed my NCLEX. I have recently moved up east with my wife. Hospital A I was offered the job in a prison acute care unit. My understanding is the training is for only 4 weeks and the pt load is 9pt per nurse which is high. This is a brand new unit. I think currently they have only 18pts but are moving up to 90pts so of course they need a lot more nurses. They did not even hired a nurse manager yet. The doctor had to do my interview. On the plus side I did like the doctor.. Hospital B did not want me at all. I most have had a bad day. Hospital C is a different story. I had three interviews for three different positions and was told by the first interview she thought I would be better suited for ICU so I interviewed for that unit and a rehab unit. Last Thur. 7/26/07 I interviewed for both jobs and felt that things went good in both interviews. After finally getting a hold of the HR nurse(about a week) she told me basically I did very good in the rehab interview and was waiting to hear from the ICU nurse. This was two days ago. Is this normal to wait so long, I plan on calling HR tomorrow to see what up.This is the hospital where I really want to work. Also I do not know the exact amount of weeks but they have a very good training program. Option D skip all the above and start applying at new hospitals Help thanks john
  3. We were required to get over 875 at our school and it took me three times. My scores were 744, 849, then 910. I passed the NCLEX on my first try. john
  4. These are my scores on the Kaplan question trainer Test 1 70% Test 2 66% Test 3 61 % Test 4 64% Test 5 65% Test 6 66% Test 7 60% Q bank total average 64% HESI score 910 (3rd try) Passed NCLEX first try with 85 questions In my opinion kaplan questions were the most similar to NCLEX.
  5. only your bon can answer your question but i can tell you that i had to file a declaratory order in texas because of a pi charge 18 years ago and the nursing board only took about two months to give me the ok to take the nclex upon completion of nursing school.
  6. Just thought I would let you know that my friend did pass. Also I passed my HESI today so I am officially done with school. Now I just need to get a job and pass the NCLEX.
  7. I would guess she in not 100% sure. She is real upset right now and thinks she failed. She is a very good student and I bet she passed. Thanks for your help. John
  8. My friend just took the NCLEX this morning and it stopped at 72 questions she claims. Is this possible? John
  9. They follow the same format each time but the questions are different. I have taken it twice and failed both times along with about 1/3 of my class. My first score was a 719 and 2nd was a 847 and I need a 875. I take it again at the end of May. Good luck on your test. John
  10. i am just a student but if you live in a state that’s under the nurse licensure compact agreement you can actually work in another state (has to be another compact state) while only maintaining your license in your home state. for more info click on the links below. https://www.ncsbn.org/nurselicensurecompactfaq.pdf https://www.ncsbn.org/158.htm
  11. i am currently a nursing student and did witness a circumcision during my ob clinical rotation. we also had a discussion about the pros and cons of circumcisions during lecture. that being said i also have a baby boy who is almost 12 weeks old and he did have a circumcision. john
  12. I know at our school we are required to maintain a 75% average on our test grades. There are other assignments which may bring your grade up but you will not pass the class unless you have a 75% test average. I am not sure if other schools have that requirement but you may want to check.
  13. Tech support jobs are not the only jobs outsourced. A lot of computer programmers have lost their jobs due to outsourcing. One of the students in my class used to be a computer programmer and lost her job due to outsourcing.
  14. just for the record six sigma was first developed by motorola back in the mid 80's. since then lots of companies use the process.
  15. sorry the question was for ss75069.
