I applied for the Fall 2008 General Track at GPC, and I was wondering if anyone has gotten their letters yet? My classmates and I went to talk to someone at advisement and they said they will be mailed out by the end of this month. I'm so anxious!
I am a recent grad of GPC. The school is hard, but I tend to think that nursing school is hard in general, no matter where you attend. Properly trained?? Not a problem at GPC. I have had several nurses/managers at many different clinical sites saying they love GPC grads because they are so prepared. If you have specific questions, PM me.
Would you mind telling me which organization managers have said that GPC nurses are so prepared?
thanks.
Hello everyone! I'm new to the fourm but I will be attending GPC this fall (clarkston). You guys are really making me nervous about this program. However, it sounds like the program is extremely hard, which is different than being extremely bad. Hard I can deal with, but bad makes me think I won't be getting trained properly. Can someone, preferably a current student, please clarify?
How is your nursing program going at GPC?
Thanks.
I apologize if this posts twice. To your question about organization managers, I can't give specific names, but I can give you the hospitals that I have, myself, heard praise from during our rotations there:
Northside, Crawford Long, CHOA, Emory Eastside, Emory Eastside Heritage. I have also heard from post-graduates that are now working in the Atlanta area that have been given the same praise when they graduated and went to look for their first positions. Please know that these were words from the floors that I have had experience with and does not represent the entire hospital. I am curious to know why this is being asked.
Yeah-I am curious to know the same thing from ugagradnursing.....why do you need to know the names of the organization managers??
I am a GPC grad and I also was told many times in clinical for school how well prepared GPC nurses are. Emory, Dekalb, Gwinnett....
Any GPC grad already knows it is true anyway. We all will tell you we go through hell in that school but come out with tons of confidence. LOL
The best judge of course are the ones from this school....you know you can perform your job with confidence b/c you had to study and perform so well in school. I feel very confident in patient care and patient education. I def feel like I can fully perform my job safely and effectively....which of course is what a good nurse wants anyway right? yeah.
Hope you find a school that will make you a great nurse too :)
Yeah, me too. I hear it all the time. Heck, I just heard it Sunday while at work. I'm currently in 3rd semester at GPC, and work weekends as a tech. Whenever I'm approached with the question as to what nursing school I attend, the usual response is something positive about the GPC grad.
I suppose everything that we go thru, eventhough sometimes it's not fully understood, at the end it's worth it.
Got an exam in the morning, so i better get offline and review.
