  1. I'm starting Nursing School at GPC in 2 weeks, and I still have questions~ I got lots of answers at orientation, but I still have a few more, please reply if you are a recent gpc student... First - What type of book bag did you use? How many of these books are we going to have to carry on a daily basis? Second- Do you feel like 1 binder for notes is suffient, or are more needed for different topics covered (nutrition, etc)? Third - What was your best organizational strategy? What did you use that may be helpful to me as a new student? Also, I have a time question - Based on your experience, about what time were you done with classes/clinicals/etc each day? My daughter gets done with school at 3:30 and needs to be picked up each day. I'm trying to determine if I will need to find alternate transportation for her. Any information would be great! Thanks~
  2. Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that after a LONG wait, I got my acceptance letter today! I'm so excited! I wrote a letter asking for consideration if spots became available, and I guess they did! I'm so happy I can hardly stand it! I can't wait to start! Where is everyone taking the CPR Course? Also, can any doctor look up my immunization record? I haven't been to a regular doctor (besides my OB/GYN) in years...
  3. Well, I got my letter yesterday, and I didn't get in I'm so sad, and I don't know what to do. I wrote a letter asking for reconsideration if spots become available. I'll just hope for the best... but I'm working on a "plan B" Any advice?
  4. Well, let's just say that I'm very annoyed. I was told TWICE today that the letters were mailed out last friday from clarkston. And yet, still no mail at my house. Anyone else get anything? I'm so anxious I could burst!
  5. It's a NURS course if you search online. There is only 1 instuctor, so It's only offered at each campus at 1 time. But VERY worth it! Great class and the instructor is AWESOME!
  6. Thanks! I'm hoping and praying SO hard! I sit by the mailbox every day just waiting Yep, I'm done with all my pre-reqs, although I kinda miss it! I'm taking the LINK class this semester, so that's fun :) Let me know when you get your letter!
  7. Sounds like you have a great shot! My Net was 82 I think, with a 3.0 overall GPA and a 3.16 for Science... I really don't know if it's going to be good enough
  8. You know what, I'm taking it all with a grain of salt. I have a couple of friends in the program, and they say it's hard, but not impossible. All of them are making B's and really enjoying it. It's really my only option in terms of location and cost, so I'm going to hope for the best! I will go to the Lawrenceville location if I get in! What are your gpa's/net score?
  9. I applied for the Fall 2008 General Track at GPC, and I was wondering if anyone has gotten their letters yet? My classmates and I went to talk to someone at advisement and they said they will be mailed out by the end of this month. I'm so anxious!
  10. Thanks for the help everyone! I did actually contact the school, and they were not helpful in the slightest. I have looked into several other nursing schools, and will try to attend somewhere else. The things I have heard about GPC's nursing program, along with the negative response from the staff have turned me off from their nursing program. I am now taking A&P 1 over again to try for an A or a B, in hopes that I will get accepted somewhere. Again, thanks for your help!
  11. Help! I'm so confused and keep hearing conflicting reports on requirements to get into GPC nursing. I have taken a lot of my prereqs (I only have A&PII and Micro left) and I keep hearing that you basically have to have a 4.0 to get in. Can anyone tell me (who has been accepted) what their GPA was, or if they know of an average? The website says the minimum is a 2.5 but I know that is the absolute lowest. I got a C in A&PI and I'm trying to decide if it is worth it to take it again and try for a B to raise my GPA. Any advice? Also, do they look at your entire GPA (even courses that are not in the pre-nursing requirements) or just your required courses. I majored in Psychology my first time around (at georgia southern) and have some bad grades on my records and I hope this won't count against me. What type of score do you have to get on the NET test to be accepted? Any advice on taking this test? Please feel free to email me with ANY information. [email protected]
