GPC Fall 2013 letters

Published

I can't believe it. I have read in the past I wouldn't hear until the end of March or April to know if I was accepted. To my very happy surprise, I got my letter in the mail today! Let the games begin.....anyone else here from GPC? Good luck to you all!

Yes Stephanie we probably are in the same online PHED class. Do you have the Midterm exam open tomorrow until Sunday?[/quote']

I'm taking it with RS, never mind.

Does anyone know when are they going to send out more info about the material we need for the first semester or about the orientation dates?

Nope, but I'm assuming soon after they fill all 160 seats for the fall start.

OK, thanks. Do you know how many applications they received?

I remember hearing someone say over 500. I could totally be wrong.

Hey

They normal get between 500 and 600 applications that qualify. And more info should go out in May. :). Hope you are all enjoy pre nursing school life.

Hey Everyone,

Has anyone gotten additional information, except for the acceptance letter, to tell us what to do next? Also, does anyone know of the books/titles of them that we will need for the first semister? I would love to have them ahead of time to start reading now before everything gets crazy. Thanks! I do know one book is Fundamentals, but that doesn't narrow it down. I guess we need the # edition and authors....?

I havent heard anything more yet. I check my email everyday hoping for something, My excitement is making me impatient lol has anyone done their CPR certification yet? Hope we all hear something soon! I'm wondering when orientation will be.

Aelmo14,

I haven't done anything as I didn't know if they want it done in a specific time frame. I want to start the Hep B shots as it is a series that can take up to three months. I am wondering it we will hear after April 30th since that was what I was told at the nursing information meeting, that if we didnt' hear about being accepted by April 30th, to call the school?

I have my yearly physical scheduled 2 weeks from now. I called and told them I needed paperwork (which I plan on requesting from R.N.) to be filled out, Hep B shots started, and a few other things done. I plan on taking my CPR in June that way it won't expire mid semester.

Im guessing we'll be hearing something after the 31st. I'll probably wait and do my CPR around then also. How do we know what all immunizations are required?

I believe the info is in the nursing manual located under "nursing student" on the nursing home page.
