It's been interesting and eye-opening to participate here. But, I don't even know how to access the email I opened this account with. I haven't used it in years.

I still check in, but this site is not as busy or lively as it used to be. Since I got into the school nurse substituting gig, I joined a Facebook school nurse page that is very active,  and you can switch to an anonymous mode if you feel like that would be wiser. I've learned a lot there, just like I learned a lot here.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year! Farewell Allnurses, it's been a good ride!

Interesting this is trending according to the side bar. I guess the system saw your name and history and boosted it. But yes FB has a ton of groups now and things have changed a bit here.

I think this type of online forum, in general, is on the way out.  Other types of media have become more popular.

The problem with Facebook used to be anonymity. They've solved that now.

So, I'll be here until the end of the year. I'll check in until then. Thanks Brian for starting this forum!

Oh, Emergent, your presence will be missed.

There is something to your statement of forums being on the way out, to which I agree. I belonged and submitted my art to about a half a dozen websites for about 15 years, but this past Spring, went back to Analog Art and returning to the Hands-On was found to be much more satisfying than Digital.

I pop in now and again, but my interest in websites has waned, as things went downhill on this website after Brian's death in 2015 and plunged after the 3 week debacle in 2019.

BON voyage, Emergent, the very best to you, and you will always be my "allnurses spouse"!"

I still have your email,  let's keep in touch now and then!

The site does seem very slow these days.

I remember the Brian days but didn't know he had died as my presence has been sporadic. Sorry to hear that.

3 week debacle? What else did I miss? Do enlighten me please!

Just Google Brian Short, allnurses, and you will get the story. I don't know what happened in 2019.

I have theories, based on objective information given by those who willingly left the site due to areas of consternation, for the reason for the "slow".

Back in 2019, the site, only expected to be down for a few days, turned into 3 weeks in December, around and including the holidays. When it reopened, "New & Improved!", many members voiced their displeasure on things like, including but not limited to, losing their kudos or likes, and navigating the site.

It's very good to communicate again with seasoned members like @Emergent and @DavidFR. @GrumpyRN visits the breakroom clubs now and again, voices and gives his support.

I don't like that I can't see who liked a post. Also, the site is too sanitized and politically correct.  It lost its spice, and became bland. I might as well be interacting with an AI bot.
