Golden West College Fall 2019

Published

Hello fellow fall 2019 applicants!

God willing, we will find out if we made it into the fall 2019 cohort at Golden West the latter part of April. I have been waiting for someone to start a post so we could all "calmly" wait this process out together! I know I am not the only one out here so please join me as we "patiently" wait for our acceptance emails/mail! All positive vibes, I am low key an internal wreck, if you cannot tell by the words I strategically placed within "quotes", lol.

@Capito I think most people will see a decrease in points with the new multicriteria guidelines since there were 4 new classes added. From what I can tell, what changed was:

  • Eng/Psy/Comm was changed from 3 pts each to 1 pt each
  • Slightly steeper Science point distribution (and you will only get the max 35 pts if you have a literal 4.0 gpa, a 3.99 gpa is 30 pts)
  • Military service changed from 4 to 3 pts
  • NURS G099 (Intro to Nursing) was added, 1 pt
  • Pharm/Crit Think/Stats were added, 2 pts each

More people would have Critical Thinking & Stats done than Pharm since the 2 classes count for GE's. If I were to apply again, my points would decrease by 7 points.

Even with the point change, I still have the same amount of points. Lol.

I'm still going to reapply for Spring!

Thank you for taking the time to reply!

Yes I have a decrease by 2 points when I reapply for spring. This semester was very competitive. Still keeping my fingers crossed for the alternate pool and hearing back from lbcc.

Man, this is strange... I haven't received my rejection letter yet lol. They said if we do not receive a letter from them by today to contact them. Has anyone on here have the same situation? I dropped off my packet within time.

Hmmm I just want to get my rejection letter so I could feel 100% more motivated to go with GWC ^_^

Hi all! For all of you who got accepted into the Fall 2019 cohort, congratulations! You all are in for an incredible journey. I am currently wrapping up by 1st semester at GWC's Nursing School. I know you will probably have a ton of questions prior to starting in August, so if anyone wants so private message me for my e-mail please feel free. That way if you have any questions/clarifications that pop up over the summer, you can e-mail me directly any time & I can see how I can help. I can also send you any studying tips/tools to keep in mind during your 1st semester.

On a side note, six of us from my cohort will be seeing you at orientation on 8/7/19 for a Q & A. If you have any questions you would like answered, but may be too nervous to ask in from of the group, you can e-mail them to me & we'll make sure we go over it for you.

Good luck everyone!! 8-)

Has anyone emailed to accept their spot yet?

Hi all! I sent in my confirmation email from my personal email. Not sure if I have to do it from a specific email or gwc email. Anyone know if they actually reply to confirm that they received our admission contract?

I just called the office. They said we don’t receive a reply or confirmation of receipt. We just receive an email later on once everyone accepts their position. The email will just tell us what to do next as mentioned in the letter. The lady I spoke to said we could email Ashley again asking if it was received but not much else to do from there. Hope this helps!

Awesome thank you for calling!

For those that received an alternate letter, what points did you have? Trying to see what the cut off for alternate and alternate pool was. Thanks!

Hi! Does anyone know if there’s already a Facebook group for those who’ve accepted?
