Golden West College ADN Fall 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hi all! I wanted to start a new thread for those of us who are planning to apply for GWC ADN Program for Fall 2021. I thought we could post any questions, help, or updates.

I will be applying with either 82 or 87 points depending on my TEAS score. Right now I'm hovering in the mid 80s for practice exams, but hoping I can still land in the 90s.

It looks like last semester was really competitive so it's making me nervous.

There’s a section on the Nursing website for “Nursing FAQs” and there’s a question about caregiving or taking care of sick relative. If it’s hired through an agency they will accept it. Just have employers write a letter.

Is the address section on the first page of the application not working for you folks? For me it is just grayed out and I can't type into it.

Same issue with me. I just skipped it for now.

It works now.

Hi! Is the online orientation (1st question on the app) the section about our personal info?

Specializes in EMT.

Hey everyone!

I’m applying to GWC this semester as an ADN student for the first time. I have 89 points and I’m keeping my fingers crossed! I applied to CSULB, CSULA and Fresno State as well and got denied from LA and Fresno. Still waiting on LB but I honestly doubt I’ll make it in as I heard 1200 people applied this year.

I don’t know if everyone saw but the application is up! We aren’t allowed to submit anything until March 29th but it’s there if anyone wants to take a look! (at the very bottom)

With 89 points I honestly think you’ll definitely get in!! The cut off last semester was 78 I think. But hopefully you’ll also hear from CSULB! It’s insane how competitive the schools are here.

So when I first applied it was back in 2019 I think and I had around 72 points but they had a different point system then. Last time I applied I had 76. This time around I’ll have 82 points I think. I know someone who got in with 72 points the other year and was on the alternate list. I guess it really just depends on the pool of people applying and what points they have. It’s been stressful though because each time I apply it seems to get more competitive! ?

Just submitted my app and seems like I only have 72 points but we'll see how it goes!

I just applied with 97 points.  Good luck everyone.

Hi everyone!

In GWC Nursing Criterias, I see that they will give 5 points for license. But I see in the result boxes, they added the points for me without counting my CNA license. Do you guys think they will give points after they look up the copy of my license? My points were so low if they did not count my CNA license.

They should but  I’m not sure. What was your total points ?
