Golden West College ADN Fall 2021

Updated:   Published

Hi all! I wanted to start a new thread for those of us who are planning to apply for GWC ADN Program for Fall 2021. I thought we could post any questions, help, or updates.

I will be applying with either 82 or 87 points depending on my TEAS score. Right now I'm hovering in the mid 80s for practice exams, but hoping I can still land in the 90s.

It looks like last semester was really competitive so it's making me nervous.

I think you need to upload the titer test again after 2 booster. You can check by emailing nursing school department [email protected]. They know it better.

Hello Everyone!

I got accepted into the Fall 2021 ADN program and I am excited to meet everyone on August 9th!

Is anyone else having trouble with the vaccination requirements and Complio? My titers came back saying that I am not immune to three different requirements, despite receiving the shots when I was younger. I already started the vaccination series for all 3 of them, but will definitely be past the deadline by the time I complete the series and get the blood titers done again.

I just wanted to see if anyone else is in the same boat, as the deadline requirements are making me nervous ?

I had the same problem as well! I wasn't immune to one of them. I emailed GWC Nursing and they said if you upload the negative titer with the follow up booster shot that will be acceptable by the deadline. Because it usually takes 6-8 weeks to build immunity and test positive for the second titer

Awesome, thank you!

Yeah they emailed me as well saying to upload the first shots that I received because I had to get the entire vaccination series done again. I will upload the negative titer results as well.

hey everyone, I just wanted to know if GWC only accepts the FIRST TEAS score you've ever taken or if you've taken it multiple times, and it's your first time applying then you can send in the highest score you've received from the past retakes. bc I believe when I spoke to a nursing counselor that if it is my first time applying ever, then I can send it whatever score that I would like. I tried to ask this same question on the Spring 2022 page, but no one replied back, so hopefully someone here in this cohort can help me? thank you!

Only your first score.   Second score won’t be accepted.

They accepted my second score! If you passed the TEAS and just want to improve your score you can retake the test but it has to be one whole year after your first attempt. If you failed the first attempt you can take it again for a better score after one month I believe. I hope this helps!

I am interested in applying for fall 2022 I just need the TEAS test

Does anyone know how many alternates got in for this semester?

I don’t know the exact amount but we have a few alternates that got in. If you look in the past replies the alternates didn’t know their number or that they were even on the alternate list! I didn’t even receive an acceptance/rejection letter and in early July they called me and offered me a spot. I had 82 points. It seems like the cut off was around 84 and there were alternates with 84 points as well.
