Going in tommorrow

Published

hi friends, thankyou for all you guidance and support. This forum has been awesome. I am taking NCLEX tommorrow morning. I hope I pass, my mind is not taking in anymore information, so I think I'll have to stop reviewing.

I've done all I could do- Kaplan and saunders, very relegiously.

All I can do now is hope for the best.

Please pray for me. I'll let you know how it goes.

i hope u pass keep us updated

I wouldn't give up the position. If you were to not take the position and pass the NCLEX, what would you do if you couldn't find another job?

Take the job, use the experience as a GN until you find out that you did PASS the NCLEX! If you didn't pass, you have gained more experience, and the hospitals have dealt with those who haven't passed. From what I have read, as you know, it is a very hard exam, and not knowing what to expect and have so much riding on the exam makes it even harder.

I'm sure you did well. I wish you all the best. :)

I dont think i'll pass, I just found out I had couple questions wrong in the beginning plus several others that I know i answered incorrectly. My mind was fogged this morning when I was answering. I took more than 2 minutes deciding on each question.

Should I just call my employer right now and save the humiliation of getting fired later (no tech positions available), and having to explain to my coworkers and my classmates.....ah, i am going nuts. And taking a spot in orientation when I know its going to be a waste. What do you guys suggest.

I can't post topics or questions here but knowledge/recall questions which I was easily getting correct in my practice exams, I was just picked the wrong answers during the test, there was no rhyme or reason behind some of answers that I chose. I don't know when I stopped thinking.

This just shows how important sleep is the night before the exam and also, overstudying sucks. By the time I sat for the exam I was so sick of worrying about it and wanted to get it over with.

I am going to take suzzanne's advice and go to the orientation, they've already paid for EKG classes and I have a 3 week schedule in my hand.

I'll do what needs to be done and just suck it up.

What really stinks is that my family has to go thorough this roller coaster.

My career is important but at what expense, I am so not fun to live with since the start of nursing school.

Do what your screen name says. Try hard to think positive!!! Failing at 75 while possible is unlikely. If you studied you, I'm sure you passed. Does CA have quick results? I would go ahead and start the new job and consider yourself passed until you are told otherwise.

After my exam I felt pretty good but as the hours went on, the more I felt I answered wrong. My theory is there is no right or wrong answer on the NCLEX, I feel like they rank your choices! You know how we say we can narrow it down to 2 right answers? Well there ya go, I think the computer is looking that you can narrow it down to two right answers and ranks you based on which of those 2 you pick. If you pick the other 2 that aren't even in the game, it's a strike against you. This is just my opinion because everyone feels like they failed and when they found out they pass, their usually shocked. So that is my theory. LOL> funny huh? I'm sure you did fine and start your new job!!!

That's actually not how the exam is scored. Also, there are several questions where ALL of the answers are correct and you have to pick the best one for what the question is asking. These, in addition to the prioritization questions, are higher level items.

Please try to stay positive, and keep in mind that the test is designed so that you will miss 50% of the questions. You just need to answer 50% at the rate of passing (can't remember the actual term for it.. basic competence?) to pass the NCLEX. The test decides this level based on what you answered correctly, and if you answer 50% correct at the basic competence level, you pass, whether it takes 75 questions or 265.

Don't focus on the ones you missed, because, as I said, you will miss 50% of the questions.

I know it's hard waiting in CA. Just be sure that your file is complete so there won't be any delays. CA doesn't participate in quick results, so it really is important to have everything turned in to the state.

Best of luck to you!

Not to be a damper, but MOST candidates that pass the exam get 50% of the questions wrong and MOST candidates that fail also get 50% of the questions wrong. Your performance, and thus passing, depends not only on the percentage of questions answered correctly, but also on the level of difficulty of the questions.

hi everyone, this is my first time on this site
