:typing Hi everyone!! Im applying to GCC nursing program this fall 2009. I have heard that its very competitive and was wondering if anyone could tell me what they got on there HESI exam, which got them into the program? The minimum that they need just to apply is 75%, I got an 81% and am concerned that my average will not be high enough to secure me a spot for the fall. Any insight is appreciated!! Congratulations to all who are currently enrolled in the nursing program and good luck to all those who are applying!
Sincerely Thank you

So should I just buy the complete package from the book store, rather than buy the book somewhere else? Or can I purchase the DVDs separately?
You can buy the package online from www.ecampus.com or www.half.com
I have never seen DVDs sold separately.

I must sound like an idiot...
But everywhere online I've seen the book, it doesn't say anything about DVDs with it....just the back of book CD-ROM. That's not the same thing, right?
Nah you don't, the package includes the DVD series. What is the name of your required book series?
According to our packet/bookstore, it's Fundamentals of Nursing, The Art and Science of Nursing Care, and listed underneath is the DVD Skills video. I'm wondering if this is a package that just GCC offers?
Is this the DVD by any chance? http://product.half.ebay.com/Taylors-Interactive-Nursing-Skills_W0QQtgZinfoQQprZ59771978 I really hope this is something that can be purchased separately as I already got my text (sixth edition, BTW) for a 1/4 of what the bookstore wanted.
In case anyone is still trying to get the DVD's separately, this is the set. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0781768136/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&seller= The bookstore had an open package so I was able to get the ISBN number. (9780781768139)
Are any of you guys thinking about PDA's, or are you just sticking with the books?
A PDA with Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary and Davis's Drug Guide for Nurses makes life simpler because you won't have to lug either of those two books around to do careplans after clinical is over each time.
Just keep alcohol wipes or Lysol Bleach towels around to clean your PDA off when you leave the hospital. Those breed germs.

Thanks. The faculty mentioned how easy they were to have yesterday, but I wasn't sure. I thought I'd get a few opinions before actually going and getting one...I'm due for an upgrade on my phone anyway, so I might just do that and make a PDA/Smart phone.

I haven't decided yet. I wasn't really planning to but I'm starting to think that I should. Of course I just got a new phone so that complicates it a bit. Maybe I'll just get an old Palm or something. I wonder if I can update the software on those by connecting to my pc. Anyone know? I'm kind of clueless about this stuff.
I'm due for an upgrade in October on my phone so I was thinking about getting a Blackberry too but I wasn't sure if you have to pay for an Internet plan or you can just upload the programs to the phone without the internet because i know it costs at least an extra $30 a month which I really don't want to spend..
