Gloucester County College Nursing HESI exam question

Published

:typing Hi everyone!! Im applying to GCC nursing program this fall 2009. I have heard that its very competitive and was wondering if anyone could tell me what they got on there HESI exam, which got them into the program? The minimum that they need just to apply is 75%, I got an 81% and am concerned that my average will not be high enough to secure me a spot for the fall. Any insight is appreciated!! Congratulations to all who are currently enrolled in the nursing program and good luck to all those who are applying!

Sincerely Thank you

Has anyone else started the summer reading? I can't believe all the chapters we are required to read before the semester even starts. I'm starting to get really nervous that I won't be able to cut it. I hope that all goes well...:o

Not yet. I actually still have to get my text books. I ordered the Saunders NCLEX review the other day, and it should arrive anytime. I don't mind the reading, it'll actually be nice to have a little bit in my head before we start. I hear ya on the nerves though, I'm starting to get nervous too.

DIC HARWOULD, thank you for your fast response and advice. I have some experience from being a medical assistant but I do need to brush up on the med. terminology. I will definitely pick them up..Thanks again..

I'm nervous too! I also still have to go get my textbooks. Someone I know who graduated last year let me borrow some books that would be helpful but none of the required texts.

I'm wondering, does it matter if I get my textbooks from school or somewhere else? Do I lose anything valuable by getting my books somewhere else, or do they all include the same things?

i'm pretty sure it does not matter. i was thinking of checking prices on the internet and such to see if i can get any deals because i know gcc's bookstore is a rip-off.

I saw the textbook (fundamentals of nursing) for only $75 (with free shipping) from Barnes and Noble online, and thought about buying it from them. The only thing that got me was that in the packet it said something about a DVD, and the book only said it came with a CD-ROM....I was a bit confused, but I'm realizing that it's probably the same thing.

Hey, I saw that you guys were talking about books... I went to the bookstore the other day to purchase our Fundamentals of Nursing Text but saw it online for ALOT cheaper. (I used google product search, it usually finds the cheapest prices) But I was wondering if anyone knows which edition we need? When I asked them in the bookstore they couldn't tell me because the books were sealed...

I'm sure if you get either the 5th or 6th (the newest one that I've seen online) you'll be fine. Both editions will have the same thing, it's just that the newer one might have some newer stuff added to it.

I'll probably be buying the 6th edition online, because I found some great prices for it.

that does seem like a good price.

Does anyone know what the DVD Skills Video is that's in our text book list - listed along with the text book?

4 DVDs that show you each nursing skill we need to perform during and out of nursing school.

It comes with its own case and it is a part of the textbook package when you order the complete package.
