Gloucester County College Nursing HESI exam question

Published

:typing Hi everyone!! Im applying to GCC nursing program this fall 2009. I have heard that its very competitive and was wondering if anyone could tell me what they got on there HESI exam, which got them into the program? The minimum that they need just to apply is 75%, I got an 81% and am concerned that my average will not be high enough to secure me a spot for the fall. Any insight is appreciated!! Congratulations to all who are currently enrolled in the nursing program and good luck to all those who are applying!

Sincerely Thank you

Angelina:D

Now I was just wondering.. how is the program?? I have been hearing alot of buzz about it not being so great of a program but I have no clue??

Every program has their ups and downs. It's a program that will have you feeling like you could pass the NCLEX-RN the day after graduation by the time you earn your degree....that's the best way to describe it.

I'm graduating in 16 days; it's definitely doable.

Let me know if you have any questions...

Well thank you and Good Luck!

I ended up getting a phone call today.............. and I got in!! I am super excited. I am guessing someone didn't take their spot and I must have been borderline to getting in.. WOO HOO:yeah:

Really, a phone call? That's awesome! You must be so excited! Congrats, looks like we'll be starting together in the fall!!

Did you sign up for classes yet, or no?

No I am signing up for my classes May 14

Do you have to take all of your classes, or just the NUR classes? I signed up last Monday for my NUR classes, and I'm curious to see who I'll be with.

I am taking A&P II this summer then Micro next summer so I can take my nursing classes alone and I'm sure that will be enough work! It stinks I will probably get the last pick on my Nursing classes but when do you have classes ? I don't even know how any of this works!

I took all of my pre-reqs ahead of time, because it was easier for me. Having two little ones, I wanted to get everything done so that I can focus on the nursing courses since I know they'll probably be the hardest. As for picking them, it's pretty easy. Your lecture and clinical are all one class (NUR131) and then your lab which is once a week (NUR130) is seperate. So my schedule is:

Mon - 8am-1010 is NUR131 (lecture), and 1040-115 is my lab.

Thurs - 8am-1010 is NUR131 (the other lectureday)

Friday - 645am-115 is my clinical.

I'm hoping this schedule works out.

Ohh yeah that is not too bad 3 days a week. Yeah i didn't plan on getting accepted since everyone says how tough it is to get in but i'm glad when we start in the fall I will only have microbiology left to take. I am meeting with Lucy Burk next thursday I'm guessing she will just assign me to whatever is open.

Good luck to you all

It's a challenging course, but well worth it in the end. . .
