Gloucester County College Nursing Fall 2011 Hopefuls?

Published

Hi everyone!

Thought I could start this thread for anyone that is applying to the GCC Nursing Program this spring? I'm just getting my portfolio organized and prepared. I have to take the HESI one more time on Feb 24th and attend an info session on Feb 28th and I'm all set. I'm so nervous! But, I'm going to try to be optimistic. I look forward to hearing from you guys :) Take Care~

Hey, I just picked up the kit at the book store and it came to be about 120$! They also said that they have a lot of them in so.

My, what inflation . . .

I am going into my 3rd semester and have always worn a white scrub top with the upper pocket and two lower pockets. I guess it depends on your clinical instructor.

For sure, that's how it worked for me as well. E-mail your CI prior to September to find out if he/she will have a problem with your choice of scrub top . . . :twocents:

Dannipoint, (remember, don't name names!!) the person you wrote to is not our clinical instructor, is it? I think it was our class instructor. It would be awesome to have the other type! Ashlea102188, what brand do you have?

what all was in the kit, rlaute? do you have to buy all of it there?

The kit consisted of a bunch of lab items such as gauze pads, wound cleaning kits, IV tubing, a few bags of .9% saline solution/ piggy back bags, gloves, tape, etc. I believe that you have to buy it there at the book store, I dont really know of any where else that would have it.

Oh yeah, I also went and got my scrubs and GCC nursing patches from "Best Uniform," in Deptford. They have pen lights which I know that we will need for the semester. So I'm pretty much all set except for the books that I have to still order. FYI, Patches were 3$ each and you get 10% off scrubs and uniforms for school there, some sort of student deal I supose.

Yes, Rlaute, we get 10%. Did they tell you they will sew the patches on for free? I sew, but I took advantage of that offer!

Skeletor, how far in advance do you get your schedule?

Do you all want to try to get together again before or after orientation? I'm up for either one!

The first day of class is when I was able to find out who my clinical instructor would be. A few days before classes began is when I found out who my lecture professor would be . . .

Sorry, Skeletor, I meant your work schedule so we can try to get you here with us!

:lol2: Of course, that's what you meant :lol2:

My schedule is done in 28-day blocks, with my work days known until the middle of September . . :smokin:
