Gloucester County College Nursing Fall 2011 Hopefuls?

Published

Hi everyone!

Thought I could start this thread for anyone that is applying to the GCC Nursing Program this spring? I'm just getting my portfolio organized and prepared. I have to take the HESI one more time on Feb 24th and attend an info session on Feb 28th and I'm all set. I'm so nervous! But, I'm going to try to be optimistic. I look forward to hearing from you guys :) Take Care~

Thanks SJerseygrle :)

I started reading the first chapter of the fundamentals book last night. It's actually a pretty cool book. I really like how the book encompasses pictures as well as historical information and assessment information. I'm really excited about the fall. :) I will try not to stress out too much because I know it won't help me any. I will try to relax and take one day at a time. Good luck to everyone!

I'm just in the first chapter of the Nursing book, the second chapter of A&P, and the third chapter of Fundamentals Success...but everything I've read I've grasped really well, lol! I haven't really been able to read until this past week. I'll be on vacation in a week and a half and plan to read up a lot from then forward. The reception invites and now decorations are chewing up a lot of my time! But my yard and gardens are squared away and little projects are slowly taken care of. I plan to be off for the full month before classes and will focus on reading then. I can't wait. I love this stuff! I've got a pathophysiology book that I plan to read after I finish re-reading A&P. I'm counting on finishing that by the end of the month.

momtofore, what book did you get for pathophysiology? I love this stuff too! I finished the first chapter of fundamentals. I plan to read the required chapters for fundamentals, then I will try to fit in A&P, med term, fundamentals success, and any others that I can :) Good luck to you!

I might get that book too..... my boyfriend has the cardiology made ridiculously simple but not pathophysiology.

i just bought the pathophysiology made easy pocket guide from amazon, i'm hoping it's similar to the one you got momtofore. :)

I have a 30% off one in stock item for today and tomorrow from Best Uniform that I'm allowed to pass along. Let me know if you're interested and I'll email it to you! I got my lab coat today and between the coupon on that and the school discount for the ugly white scrub top, I pretty much got the scrub top free!

Oh, and when you buy the patch for school there, they'll sew it onto the tops/coat you get there for free!

so it's pretty much my mission to collect all the incredibly easy & visual books

Random question; but does anyone know what we're supposed to wear for those 3 days of orientation in August? I don't think I read it anywhere. Or it doesnt matter what we wear?

Street clothes

try critical thinking you will need it throughout the program, if you take it now you will be one step ahead of the others.
