Gloucester County College Nursing Fall 2011 Hopefuls?

Published

Hi everyone!

Thought I could start this thread for anyone that is applying to the GCC Nursing Program this spring? I'm just getting my portfolio organized and prepared. I have to take the HESI one more time on Feb 24th and attend an info session on Feb 28th and I'm all set. I'm so nervous! But, I'm going to try to be optimistic. I look forward to hearing from you guys :) Take Care~

thanx for all your help guys. I decided to go paper with books and i have a zoom from verizon is not an ipad but it's simmilar, so i will use it for lab. and the uniforms I need to go shopping!!!!!! :D

Glad, have fun! :D

I am wearing scrubs to work. Navy pants, naturally. But I wanted to buy a print top, but boy those things are hideous!! I did buy one that I can tolerate. I guess I'm going to go buy a couple of solid tops not in white. I will kill white. I bought 4 polo shirts because I am so bad with white!!

My ARC certification should be coming in 1-2 weeks my professor said. Hopefully, it will be here before I leave for NYC June 13th. I would like to get everything handed in before I go. How is everyone else coming along?

My doc is a moron - first they forgot to give me the lab stuff so my packet got rejected. The second time, I thought.. lets read the whole thing first and viola... on the lab report it says "patient not immune to Hep B" but where the doc fills out the lab stuff he wrote "Immune Hep B quant". So I called to clarify and they said I need a booster. I can have work give it to me for free, I faxed the paperwork to them, now I just have to go. Next week, probably. Annoying!

But I passed CPR and got the cert that night and it was free so I should count my blessings!

SJ, i'm sorry to hear that your doctor screwed up. But, at least you have the cpr certification already. I think a lot of us are still patiently waiting for it. After I get that my packet will be complete and I can turn it in and have one less thing to worry about. Good luck to you!

Yes, I think that's what is most frustrating for all of us - depending on other people to get stuff we need quickly and efficiently.

Are yous excited to begin nursing school in

I was excited..... but now i'm growing even more nervous as the date approaches. I still have so much to study before school starts, but right now i'm in the process of finishing two summer classes..... (so much work already!) and I'm leaving for NYC june 13th..... hopefully i'll be able to get some studying in before orientation!

Don't stress over what you "gotta study" before class begins, just make the most outta your free time prior to September. Make sure you let loose while enrolled in nursing classes, or you'll lose your mind.

You're gonna have a blast.:cheers::beer::barf01::bugeyes:*wine

lol! Thanks :) I'm not good with relaxing..... but I'll make a point to do so before September haha.

I'm worrying over fitting studying in, too. Mostly reviewing. Not enough time available! Ugh.
