Gloucester County College Nursing Fall 2011 Hopefuls?

Published

Hi everyone!

Thought I could start this thread for anyone that is applying to the GCC Nursing Program this spring? I'm just getting my portfolio organized and prepared. I have to take the HESI one more time on Feb 24th and attend an info session on Feb 28th and I'm all set. I'm so nervous! But, I'm going to try to be optimistic. I look forward to hearing from you guys :) Take Care~

ok, hopefully that will be the case with Kennedy too. Thanks for the input...I feel a little better now.:)

Hello! I took my CPR at Kennedy last Saturday and they do not give you the card that day. They state that they mail it to you in about 2 weeks or so. Which I hope really means 2 weeks. But it was wonderful! Instructors were very helpful and knowledgeable.

I am glad to hear the get together went well. I am sorry I wasn't able to be there. Keep me informed on the next I would still love to meet you all before the fun begins. Dannipoint have a wonderful time in NYC. Have a good night everyone!

Ugh, I hope it really means two weeks too. Keep me posted on that Sammy, if it takes longer or not. Just so I know what to expect and when to start begging them to speed it up.

Ctine05 and I are still waiting for our card from our class on May 17 at GCC!

OMG!!! For what they were charging they should have overnighted it to you. That is crazy. Did they explain what they were waiting for? I was doing a little research on the topic and read that all they have to do is sign the card and mail it out to you. So, if that is the case, I am not sure what the hold up is.

Who knows. The instructor said it could take up to four weeks. It's a good thing we went as early as we did!

yeah it is a good thing. I had no idea. Everyone else I spoke to until this forum, got their CPR card the same day they completed the class so I wasn't in a rush. I focused more on getting all the other requirements completed. We still have time though, I am not going to worry about it until it is a problem....at least that is what I will tell myself ha ha.

Thanks nurse2b2013, I was told by my professor that my card should come within 1 to 2 weeks...... i took my class on may 10th.....i really hope it comes in time...... i want to get everything out of the way before i leave. It's really frustrating because I have all the other information ready but i just need that cpr certification for it to be complete.....

I'll get my second Hep B shot next week and gather all my health papers that day. So hopefully my CPR card will be here by then and everything will be taken care of!

Bridal shower at my house in one week (and 7 minutes, lol) so after the papers are turned in I'm finished with my work other than work for the summer!

Wow.... so apparently my fin aid went through and I didn't get even close to what I was expecting....... this is disappointing.......

Yeah me too, I only got pell not seog like in years past. I am glad to see that I am not the only one, so maybe it is just taking a while like everything else has this year. I am calling GCC today to find out what happened. As far as I know, the program is still in effect and I didn't make any more this year than in past years. I will let you know what I find out.

Sorry to hear about the financial aid disappointments. I'm waiting to hear about scholarships, and my CPR card!
