Gloucester County College Nursing Fall 2011 Hopefuls?

Published

Hi everyone!

Thought I could start this thread for anyone that is applying to the GCC Nursing Program this spring? I'm just getting my portfolio organized and prepared. I have to take the HESI one more time on Feb 24th and attend an info session on Feb 28th and I'm all set. I'm so nervous! But, I'm going to try to be optimistic. I look forward to hearing from you guys :) Take Care~

Ok, send them along. They'll be my daily dose! lol Thank you!

momtofore & SJ are you guys talking about cutting your book into halves or quarters and bringing them to class? Or are you guys talking about studying those different sections before class? Momtofore, I hope to read AP 1 and 2, micro, med term, fundamentals success, and others before the semester begins. I wish i didn't have to start summer classes tomorrow, i really want to focus on nursing but oh well i guess it's better to get everything over with while I can.

Oh and momtofore, did you get your cpr certification last Tuesday or will it be mailed to you? I'm patiently waiting for mine lol

Good luck everyone!

We were talking about splitting the book (metaphorically) into units of 15-25 pages (generally 1-2 hours of study time) and reviewing the material - approx. 85 units, or hours. If you're going to be too busy, I would suggest Chapters 29-36 for the reasons I said earlier. Of course, don't neglect the chapters they told us to read ahead of time :) So far, I found that my ability to pay attention and reason seems to falter right at the end of the "units", which was my intention. You may have different tolerances.

Thanks! I'll consider what you mentioned SJgrle :)

I'm drawing up my summer study schedule tonight...after I iron my scrubs for work in the morning! :D I'm glad I'm not in any classes this summer. I'd never be able to do it with work.

I won't get any paperwork from the CPR class for perhaps weeks. I want that card!

My titers should be in this week, including the tetorifice & diptheria ones. I am not pleased about that situation!

Ok, I'm going over what I want to read this summer and am incorporating SJerseygrle's breakdown of Fundamentals and there is something I'm wondering about. Has anyone talked to second year or former students (oh, Skeletor!!!) about how much of the book is covered the first year or the first semester? Do we do the whole book first semester?

See, I didnt even think about that. I figured all first semester since the list of Chapters covered in just the first four sessions was so many.

That's a good question! I have Skeletor's # i'll ask him.

Skeletor said we do cover all the material in the first semester.

Bummerrrrrrr! :lol2: Thanks, Skeletor and dannipoint!

 You got it
