Hi everyone!
Thought I could start this thread for anyone that is applying to the GCC Nursing Program this spring? I'm just getting my portfolio organized and prepared. I have to take the HESI one more time on Feb 24th and attend an info session on Feb 28th and I'm all set. I'm so nervous! But, I'm going to try to be optimistic. I look forward to hearing from you guys :) Take Care~
Momtofore congrats! I am so glad you got what you were looking for. It sounds like youre a shoo-in and they seem to want to work with you - what more could you ask for.
Hmmm.... how about living on your private island off of your investments with your healhty, happy kids.
Ah, well, getting the job you want is good too!
Ah, finally finished most of my homework..... i can't wait for this semester to be over. I really want to start reading some of the books for the program. All I have to worry about is finals.
Oh and I'm not sure if I mentioned this or not, but my cpr teacher is willing to certify my class in professional for $40..... 2 hours. 2 year cert.... works for me. Wouldn't make sense to take another cpr class when I'm already taking one lol.
Oh and it looks like 86 students are in nursing 1.... lab is filled up.... but lecture/clinical is missing like 10 people. Maybe some people dropped the program?
Or maybe not everyone accepted and there will be some waitlisters coming in still?
I have just a little more schoolwork to do and I'm finished. I need to write a cover letter for my resume and go make copies of everything before my interview. I need to get a suit, ugh. And my stepdaughter gets married this weekend and I'm not entirely prepared yet, lol!
Thanks, SJerseygrle, for the congrats. And yes, the island would be nice too!!
Ah guys I have an important question! I was just looking at my packet for the physical, medical questionnaire, cpr, ect.
Are you guys handing the whole packet in or sending in the papers individually? Because I just read that the pink paper (med questionnaire) should be submitted immediately after acceptance. Did you anyone else hand this in already? I'm thinking I'll go to school tomorrow and hand it in. I can't believe I totally missed it.....

The "extra" slots are reserved for students repeating a semester. My program year began with 84 (first-time) students, and 46 returning students, for a combined total of 130. Our class graduated with approximately 66 students . . .
lol, yeah i think i'll head over to GCC sometime tomorrow and hand in the medical questionnaire and physical form. Then once I get all my lab work I will hand in the immunizations. Then once I get my cpr certification I will hand that it. I just assumed since it was in a packet that we would need to hand it in all together, so it's kind of confusing.
The instruction sheet doesn't say anything other than the student has to fill out the color-coded questionnaire and that the health papers as a whole are due by July 21. But the questionnaire says it must be filled out immediately after being accepted to Gloucester County College (not the Nursing program). Well, I was accepted years ago! Also, I DON'T have the MMR shot #2 yet that they want a date for nor the shot/immunization record it says must be turned in with it.
Soooo.....not sure it needs to be in before July 21. I'll ask tomorrow. If I turn it in it will be incomplete.
