Hi everyone!
Thought I could start this thread for anyone that is applying to the GCC Nursing Program this spring? I'm just getting my portfolio organized and prepared. I have to take the HESI one more time on Feb 24th and attend an info session on Feb 28th and I'm all set. I'm so nervous! But, I'm going to try to be optimistic. I look forward to hearing from you guys :) Take Care~
Momtofore, That is great news! I am so happy for you!
It sounds like you already have the job. Does the job require any other tasks besides filing? Is it only for 8 weeks or more if you want? I think that sounds like a great opportunity to get your foot in the door. And don't worry about the housework, ect. Have you clone lend you a hand! lol. Let me know how everything turns out. I'm really excited for you!!!
Today is the last day of nur registration, right? So hopefully we can see how many will be entering in the fall.
Once again........ CONGRATS :clpty:
If anyone has a facebook and wants to add me my link is http://www.facebook.com/dpointkowski

I thought those two books looked like the same topic also. I don't have both yet.
I got the call about the job! I'm really excited. It sounds like I would get the position. She asked about my availability (they have a number of people to replace) because my friend told her I could do full-time for 8 weeks. I explained that I was restricted to that length of time because of things I needed to take care of before school started in the fall (including studying). She asked when I could start and I told her I was still in school but had cleared it with my prof to start as soon as possible. She asked then if I was available May or June....or what. I told her it could be any 8 weeks, together or broken up. Whatever would work best for them, so long as I had the time off to take care of the things I need to take care of. She then offered up the possibility of my working less hours for a longer duration and I told her that would be fine, too. Asked if I would mind filing. I had to (unsuccessfully) stifle a chuckle. I told her I LOVE to organize and love paperwork. She told me about the office, easy travel from where I was, nice office to work in. They are facing one person retiring, one going in for surgery and two front desk people that need to be replaced. The file clerk has been trained to work the front desk and so she would move there and I would file in her place.
The office supervisor is out this week. She is going to call her next week and said she would probably want to meet with me to go over details. The woman who called today will call me next Wednesday. She gave me both her office and cell phone numbers. What do you think? Do you think I'll get it? I haven't interviewed since 1983, lol!
I'm excited. Can you tell? I AM dreading not being able to complete the house projects I'd wanted to do. But it sounds like a great opportunity on so many fronts that I'm really looking forward to it!
61 now, lol.
