Gloucester County College Nursing Fall 2011 Hopefuls?

Hi everyone!

Thought I could start this thread for anyone that is applying to the GCC Nursing Program this spring? I'm just getting my portfolio organized and prepared. I have to take the HESI one more time on Feb 24th and attend an info session on Feb 28th and I'm all set. I'm so nervous! But, I'm going to try to be optimistic. Lol, that's great! I'm hoping for everyone who has been accepted to find this site, but I'm not sure if everyone knows about allnurses. We'll hope for the best!

Skeletor can probably confirm this, but he told me the nursing kit comes with everything you need for your labs. catheters, ivs, dressings, wound care, ect. When I heard that I got even more excited!! :D

Oh and btw, another recommendation from Skeletor. He recommended purchasing Taber's Medical Dictionary 21st edition.

What scope did you end up buying?

Being the geek that I am, I went right off and started looking at the books online. But I'm holding off bc I already have some to study over the summer and don't really need them right now. How funny we are to want those books!! I had to take a deep breath and stop myself, lol.

Momtofore, same here! I can't help looking at all the books I want.... but I also have to hold off and calculate how much I need to spend on everything. I think I will wait until we get something in the mail about books. Then I'll go crazy lol

I ended up getting the Littman Classic II SE (raspberry) it was about 70$ through ebay.com, but medisave has cheaper ones, I just couldn't use a credit card so I had to go through ebay. Medisave also does free engraving btw!

Hey!! It's Kristi from Psych... How did you find out that you passed the backround check and drug screen.... I also am not worried... however... it's nice to know. lol :)

Also, I'm super excited Momtofore and I am so happy you told me about this!!! It's so great to know I'm not the only one that is super excited about all of this.... my husband just dosen't get it!! lol I LOVE that I can get a stethascope engraved!! I'm on medisave now!! lol

Hi, NanaVana! I'm glad you made it! One of the forms we filled out for it (online?) had a place to choose whether you wanted to be notified or not.

Welcome NanaVana :) I'm glad momtofore told you about this forum. It's a great way to keep in contact with the ones who were accepted! Yes, Medisave.net is an awesome website for stethoscopes, plus free engraving which is nice ;)

I found about passing my CHBC by my email, I believe when I ordered the CHBC online I chose the email verification option. But, don't worry I'm sure you passed. If your not a sex offender or don't do drugs, your fine! lol

How excited are you?!?!?! I'm super excited. I can't wait to be done with this semester so the reading can begin! lol

What time did you make your registration appt? Also, what were your HESI scores like? Just to get an idea of what the pool was like. If you don't mind.

Ok so I compleatly missed that box... but I called and they are forwarding the e-mail to me. I know it's fine but still.... ya know!! lol

I am SOOOOO excited!! I can't believe it! I feel so bad for the people that didn't make it in I def know a few. :(

I made my appt for 9:15 on the 26th. Who is your appt with?? From what Momtofore said I am so happy to have found people that actually CARE about their grades!! I was so worried since my partners didn't get in I was going to be stuck with sucky ones! lol My HESI... it was ok I guess I got an 89 but that was good enough for me... I took it once. And after hearing the horror stories I'm so glad that was it. I know people that took it 5 and 6 times!! (and still didn't get in)

Has anyone heard how many people actually were accepted? I'm sure we will find out in August... but it is still nice to know. :)

I'm sure I'll see you this fall!! Congrats!!
