i just spoke with the Lady from GCC Nursing Staff. They sent out the invites for TEAS on Thursday April 19th. for those who are 2nd time applying, we all will get letters (accepted, not accept) by May 10.

Good luck

Willowita, did you ckeck the two boxes for Evening and Day programs? The weekend evening program was an option of the two! Congrats!!!! I hope to see you therat orientation.

I just got an acceptance letter from Glendale for the standard program (days). I will be declining my seat as I will be attending College of the canyons but it was nice to be accepted. Good luck to you all!

I've been so anxious waiting for a response from GCC. Is anyone else still waiting for an acceptance/denial letter? Do they send denial letters or do we never hear from them if we're not accepted??

Yippeee! I was accepted to the Weekend/Evening program!! My first choice out of the four I programs applied for! @37 and counting, I was accepted to COC as well, but will be declining my seat. So glad I was waiting on finishing up the background and ...saving me some $$$, since I will have to do it for GCC instead. Congrats on your two acceptances, as well! Have fun at COC! @willowita, the Weekend/Evening program has lecture on weekday nights starting after 4 pm, plus we will have clinical on either Sat or Sun each week. I am sure they will give us a more detailed outline at orientation. I was hoping so much to get into this program, as it works better for me, my husband, and kids. :) Congrats to all accepted, and hang in there to everyone else!

@Dox06 they are in the mail and they are using our envelopes so I am sure people will get one either way.

@nurseoftheworld, I am glad you got into the school and program of your choice. Its important that we all pick the best program that suits our needs.

As for me COC is much closer than glendale, and my good friend also got accepted, so I am thrilled. Although, I know I would have been happy at either school. Just getting accepted on the first go-round has been such a blessing. I am still looking forward to acceptance/rejection letters from all 7 schools I applied to.... having already accepted COC (damn we have to do a lot of stuff in may)... it takes all of the pressure off while waiting for the letters and I can just enjoy the ride. I also got alt #2 at LACC. So far I am having a good run :) Good luck to everyone out there and I hope to meet some of you soon at COC :)

Thanks for the info on the weekend/evening program. I checked both boxes to be flexible since I know it's tough to get in anywhere in the LA area. If I had to tough it out, I was willing to. But through random luck I was also accepted to LA Harbor and I think their schedule would work better for me. Plus, both schools are the same distance from where I live. But I would be going against traffic towards LAHC while going with traffic to GCC. I've done bad commutes before and I don't want to do it again. I want to avoid getting burned out and going to class until 10pm and sitting in bumper to bumper traffic might do that to me. So LAHC is looking better for me.

Good luck to you all! I'm sure giving up my seat will make someone's day!

haha, it seems like there are some ppl giving up their seats @ GCC. :D

I'm still waiting to find out. I hope a letter comes in the mail today! And I really hope I get accepted.

FYI, just called nursing office at GCC. Summer schedule as follows: class starts on June 19th. We only have class Tues and Thurs for summer. All lecture, no clinicals. Same schedule for both day program and night program. Tuesday's from 12-205 pm, and Thurs from 12-345 pm. They have set up CPR, and Fire Life Safety Class for us as well. There will be class through July 4th week...so no long weekend! Hope this info helps everyone! Good luck to everyone headed off to different schools! Also feeling so fortunate to have acceptances on my first go around. Love it!

Thanks for all the info nurseoftheworld. This morning I was rethinking it and was considering accepting since I love Glendale and I would love to move back there. But I really, really can't start in the summer. So that's pretty much answers that.

Well I just received my letter that I was not selected. Guess I get to waste more time. Anyone know how many alternates they choose?

Oh sorry to hear about this , Jchw81 !!!

Don't give up. are u first time applying? try to apply everywhere, even you think you cannot get selected. That's how i did. I have to wait 1 semester. But it's okie since I needed to take other class G.E. for RN-BSN later.

Where else did u apply? there are usually about 30 alternates. Im not sure this time tho.
