Glendale Community College (CA) Spring 2011

This is my second time applying, since I didn't get in for the fall semester. When I applied they never asked for TEAS scores, they just sent me a letter saying I was qualified but I did not get drawn in the lottery. I got a call from the school last Friday asking me to send my TEAS scores or else take the test yesterday. (Since I'd already taken it and passed I sent the report right away.) Does this mean I got drawn in the lottery? :eek:

Got my acceptance for GCC today for all of you who applied. Deadline to turn in the letter of intent is December 1st. If you are waitlisted consider me your best friend because I will be declining my seat.

wow, u'r lucky ... Would u mind sharing ur gpa, teas score ? :) and do u work too ? .. I havent recieved anything yet. :)

I didn't do as well as I hoped, 80% on my end. Do you know how long it takes for the ATI website to post the score to see what the good/bad areas were?

Yeah they say "randomly selected" but who really knows...hopefully we will hear something within a week or 2?!! I heard back from COD and I wasn't "randomly selected" for that school...hahahha...so if nothing here I will have to apply to many more schools for next semester. Did you apply anywhere else?

Mine was up within 48 hours.

Anatomy: B

Physiology: A

Micro: B

Chem:B

English: A

I've had my CNA license since June but only got an actual job last month so my healthcare experience wasn't on my apps.

For LAVC program that I got into they said they weighed the English grade very heavily so that helped me.

Congrats!!!! Even though you are giving up the spot...=) I haven't recieved anything yet...did you get an email or actual letter in the mail?

I think they'll send mails, not email. Correct me if im wrong. :) I would love to have your seat SoCal !!! is it a regular or weekend program?

I heard that letters from GCC would be sent out on Nov. 22nd, but I haven't received anything. SoCalCrystal got an acceptance letter on Nov. 23rd. Do you think that the acceptance letters went out first? It's so hard to wait, but I'm feeling discouraged that I didn't get a letter yet.

I received my acceptance letter from GCC on Wednesday...it was a very happy Thanksgiving for me. Good Luck to everyone still waiting.

I heard that letters from GCC would be sent out on Nov. 22nd, but I haven't received anything. SoCalCrystal got an acceptance letter on Nov. 23rd. Do you think that the acceptance letters went out first? It's so hard to wait, but I'm feeling discouraged that I didn't get a letter yet.

I know the feeling :crying2: ...I hoped maybe since I usually have issues regarding my mail that maybe I just didn't recieve it YET...but nothing today either. So the rejected feeling SUX BUT...it just means that this wasn't the school for me!!! Keep your head up Nancymard...we will get in!!!! :up:

Some ppl just got selected into 2-3 programs, while I have been waiting to be accepted almost for a year, but still .... go nowhere. My heart is crying out everytime I think all my friends get R.N. lisence when i run around just to ... re-apply.

I dont even give myself a hope for this semester as im still waiting a mail from GCC.:crying2:

Hey hnguyen509...look at the bright side...you will have friends working in hospitals that will be able to get you a job!! It's tough to get into to nursing school BUT it's more difficult to get a job after! So don't lose hope!!! I know it's easier said than done...maybe GCC hasn't sent out the alternate mail yet?

hnguyen509, please don't lose hope. Did you apply to other schools? I know how discouraged you feel about GCC; it was my first choice school. I'm a much older student and I don't feel like I have years to wait, but God has the ultimate plan for us. Once you get in you'll be so grateful that it will give you the motivation to work really hard and to excell. Good luck.
