Glendale Community College (CA) Spring 2011

This is my second time applying, since I didn't get in for the fall semester. When I applied they never asked for TEAS scores, they just sent me a letter saying I was qualified but I did not get drawn in the lottery. I got a call from the school last Friday asking me to send my TEAS scores or else take the test yesterday. (Since I'd already taken it and passed I sent the report right away.) Does this mean I got drawn in the lottery? :eek:

Some ppl just got selected into 2-3 programs, while I have been waiting to be accepted almost for a year, but still .... go nowhere. My heart is crying out everytime I think all my friends get R.N. lisence when i run around just to ... re-apply.

I dont even give myself a hope for this semester as im still waiting a mail from GCC.:crying2:

If you are having trouble getting in go to the programs you are applying to and ask them what you can do to help the next time you apply. Retake the TEAS....get a healthcare job (ie CNA, HHA), retake courses where the grade you received may be holding you back. Don't give up hope. You have to understand how much I did in two years in an effort to make myself very appealing to schools. Its hard out there and you have to do anything you can to improve your chances.

do not get me wrong Socal . Im happy to hear that u got selected. Yes! I tried really hard the last 2 years and a half. I got 3.7 GPA, with As' for Anatomy, Micro, Chem, Pharmacology, Bs' for English and Physiology. But i boobed the TEAS 72%. i work for a clinical office with a year and a half experience. I have no class left to take. I got AA degree. Luckily, I put my name on the waiting list in Santa Monica College. Hopefully, gonna hear something for Fall 2012.

BTW, did you guys receive any letter yet? im still waiting. I called , the lady said that if I didnt receive anything by the end of this week, call back ... :)

I GOT IN!!!!!! The nursing director called me this evening and extended the offer!! I have to go in tomorrow to get fingerprinted and tested!! I'm so grateful & happy!!! I'm guessing a few people might of turned down the offer and I was just lucky enough to get thier spot!!!!

Hi hnguyen509, go to LATTC in downtown LA. They go by the waiting list and they are taking application for Fall 2012 right now. I was in the same situation as you and I've been applying for a year in different colleges but none of the schools called me. So I went to LATTC in October and they put me on their waiting list for Fall 2012. Guess what? In November i received an acceptance letter from them in the mail for Spring 2012. I am starting earlier than I thought.

thanks again for letting me know LATTC. i had no idea bout this school, coz im livin in Irvine, Orange County. I did look up on LATTC nursing website, but could not find enough information bout the program.

You won't find any info online. They don't answer the phone.You need to go meet with the counselor first, she will fill out the nursing prerequisites form sheet that you gonna take to the nursing office. Then they will let you fill out the nursing application form. You don't need to take an appointment with the counselor just walk in to the admission office n they will send you there. You must bring your unofficial transcripts when you go to see the counselor n if you get there by 9 am you can finish with the whole nursing application process and be put on the waiting list the same day.

i just applied for studen id no. :) im not sure that i can see nursing couselor without id no., cause i do not work tomorrow, so i've planned to drive there tmr. :)
