Glendale Community College (CA) Spring 2011

Published

This is my second time applying, since I didn't get in for the fall semester. When I applied they never asked for TEAS scores, they just sent me a letter saying I was qualified but I did not get drawn in the lottery. I got a call from the school last Friday asking me to send my TEAS scores or else take the test yesterday. (Since I'd already taken it and passed I sent the report right away.) Does this mean I got drawn in the lottery?

Yes...I am applying! I need to submit my app next week! My friend got selected last draw and said she is enjoying it so far! Hopefully we both will get lucky!! =) It is a lottery system and I knew of 15 girls who applied last semester and a few did get in. So I'm going to cross my fingers and my toes!! =)

is anyone applying for spring 2012? i submitted my application last week and i'm crossing my fingers and i hope to be selected for sprg 12

Did u guys hear anything from them yet?? Im so nervous nowww:redbeathe

Nothing on my end...give it another week or so!

I just received a letter from GCC inviting me to take the TEAS V. Ima gonna make a call to schedule an appointment. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US !:redbeathe

Me too...let the studying begin!! Good Luck to all as well!! =)

i just scheduled my appt. on Tuesday Nov 15. when is urs?

I scheduled mine for 11/18/11. I want 2 have as much study time as possible!!! Do you have the TEAS book? Any study tactics?

I DO HAVE ATI BOOK FOR TEAS V. IM NOT SURE THAT IM READY FOR THE TEST. MATH IS MY STRONG SUBJECT. GRAMMAR, READING .. LET'S SAY I CAN TRY MY BEST TO GET A "B's",

BUT, SCIENE, IDK. I FEEL LIKE NEVER ENOUGH FOR IT. IT'S SO BROAD AND TRYIN TO REMEMBER THOSE THINGS DOES NOT SEEM EASY. BESIDE OF A&P,I FOCUS ON BASIC CHEM. MY FAV. ! I DO NOT STUDY PHYSICS AT ALL. WE RUN OUT OF TIME. HIX

ARE U READY TO TAKE TEAS? ANY OTHER PROGRAM THAT YOU APPLIED FOR NEXT SPRING?

No I'm definetely not ready but I will be studying all day everyday until 11/18. I have heard that the 2 online tests are very helpful in terms of letting you know ur strong/ weak areas and just basically preparing u. I have browsed the Teas thread and it seems that the math, english, & grammar are pretty similar to the book...however the science part is another story...lol. I applied at COC but wasn't able to make the TEAS due to an emergency, still waiting to hear from COD, and well GCC. Good Luck!

Hello mkm81, how was the TEAS ?? I bombed mine .. 73%. I called and asked, the lady told me as long as you passed 62%, you' were good. BUT i doubt it. They said "RANDOMLY SELECTED", but read the previous posts, ppl who were selected have high scores.

Do you know when they will send out the final mails? Nervous*

I didn't do as well as I hoped, 80% on my end. Do you know how long it takes for the ATI website to post the score to see what the good/bad areas were?

Yeah they say "randomly selected" but who really knows...hopefully we will hear something within a week or 2?!! I heard back from COD and I wasn't "randomly selected" for that school...hahahha...so if nothing here I will have to apply to many more schools for next semester. Did you apply anywhere else?

80% is a good score for teas v. i think u'll have a better chance. i think they also "randomly" select ppl who have [color=#0044cc]experience with health-care environment too. ?!?!

la harbor city college didnt pick me ! so, im just waiting for gcc. im gonna apply more for next fall. elac, la southwest, goldenwest college, cerritos, la harbor college, and ... glendale again. lolz. i also put my name on the waiting list @ santa monica, mt. sac last spring (4/2011).

hopefully, i will hear something soon from santa monica. they say you wont get into mt. sac in 2 years.

cod?? where's that? is it also "randomly selected?" lol. im from orange county, do not know much about school in la.

good luck for both of us :D

yeah I also think having experience helps! I just recently got my CNA license and started working as a Home Health Aide, however I wasn't able to add it to my GCC app b/c I wasn't finished with the course. So if I don't get selected this time I know the experience I gain in the next few months will be helpful for next time I submit apps.

Wow 2 years @ Mt. Sac waiting...I was trying to apply and they weren't even accepting apps. You might wanna try Citrus, Rio Hondo, and Pasadena City College too.

Well hopefully they will give an answer soon...they have all the info they need now to "RANDOMLY" select candidates...lol....good luck to you 2!!! =)
