Glendale Community College (CA) Spring 2011

Published

This is my second time applying, since I didn't get in for the fall semester. When I applied they never asked for TEAS scores, they just sent me a letter saying I was qualified but I did not get drawn in the lottery. I got a call from the school last Friday asking me to send my TEAS scores or else take the test yesterday. (Since I'd already taken it and passed I sent the report right away.) Does this mean I got drawn in the lottery?

Wasn't selected for GCC. Waiting for notifications from PCC and LA County now.

I didn't get anything yet, but my mail service is unreliable. Maybe tomorrow. So nervous!!!!

I just got in to the standard Schedule. :yeah:

I'm sorry for those who didn't get in.

Congrats HypnoVoice,

Do you happen to know if the selection process was based on lottery system? If you don't mind sharing, what were your science pre-req & Teas score?

Here are mine below:

Ana/Physio/Micro/Teas - A/A/B/80% first time

Hello and congrats on your acceptance to GCC (CA). I received my denial yesterday. This is my first semester applying to nursing school and so far, I havent won the Lottery; I am waiting to hear from one more school. I am curious as to your total TEAS score.

Since this is an anonymous forum, would you mind telling me what your HONEST score is? I scored a composite score of 74.7% . In addition, I am wondering if this was your first semester trying, if not, how long did it take you to get in?

I look forward to your reply!

thanks snookiejc.

gcc is based on lottery.

i already have ba in art.

my science scores is a, and my teas score is 87.6. reading 92, math 91, science 90 english 81( this could have been better).

this is my first time applying, so i got very lucky.

i hope this helps.

i do believe all things happen at the right time, so have faith.

good luck to all.

Hi Everyone! This is my first post. I received my letter from GCC (CA) yesterday. I am an alternate for the weekend/evening program. I was told that If I am not picked for Spring 2011, I have a guaranteed spot for Fall 2011. If I accept the offer I have to start taking nursing courses for Winter intersession. I believe these classes begin January 3, 2011. Did anyone else receive a similar response? I'm still waiting to hear back from LAVC and Pasadena City College.

I didn't get my name drawn, so it's down to LACC and LAVC. I applied again for PCC and LA County but I don't really expect to get in to either of those schools.

I'm sorry to hear that. Bummer. Why don't you think you'll get into County or PCC? Do you happen to know how many people GCC accepted?

I applied to LA County and PCC last semester as well, and I didn't make the cut. I'm basically a B student, plus I already have a Bachelor's degree so my grades aren't as high as those with fewer credits. It would take a miracle for me to get into those programs, but I went ahead and let them put me back on the list for this year since it didn't cost me anything. I've been accepted to LATTC for Spring 2011, so I will at least have that if nothing else.

Oh I see, well, I'm happy that you have an option for Spring. What is LATTC? I haven't heard of that school. Do you know what the cut off is for county this semester? Was it 81 last semester? I only have 80 pts, so unless the cutoff is lower, I won't be getting in there either. I am applying to COC in February...

LATTC is Los Angeles Trade Tech. Basically they're first come, first serve (even though they'll tell you they have a wait list). I haven't heard yet what the LA County cut off is, usually someone will post when they start sending out letters. GCC is the first response I've gotten this semester, so far.

LATTC is a good school. You get what you put in. It's funny, I took my TEAS there in May, and they never called me. They said I wouldn't get in until FALL of 2011. LATTC is supposed to be first come first serve, but somehow I don't think that is true, or they lost my info.

Anyway, good luck femmebot. :)

You're also going to find that LATTC is cheaper in someway. Parking is only $20 (what I remembered) a semester, and service fee is much less than GCC. You wouldn't have the parking problem that GCC has.
