Getting in shape/Losing weight in pre-nursing/NS support thread

Published

Although, It says for students Everyone is welcome.

A few years ago I lost a significant amount of weight and increased my health by walking/running. I was involved with a support thread on another board. We shared our stats each week, our ups, and our downs. It was so helpful for me to be accountable for my actiions and numbers. Well, I was doing good, but had a surprise pregnancy now he is 2, and I am back where I was and then some.

With the unique considerations that come from fitting excercise and a healthy diet in during NS/and pre- reqs, I thought it might be nice to be able to share and support each other because we know better than anyone else the stress of time management and pressure of keeping our grades up.

I know that NS can be strenuous physically and I want to get in shape or at least a head start for this fall

Would anyone else like to join me?

I know what you mean about eating healthy for a while and then eating something like pizza and makes you feel yucky. I had mac n cheese for dinner ( i stayed within points for the day) and it did not sit well either. Tomorrow will be better for you hopefully you can get walking in.

my son had a tball game last night and of course everyone wanted to go to pizza hut afterwards so i first ate a salad before the pizza was even ready and then i ate a piece but i dont think it hurt me....today i am goin to a bday party for my husbands great grandmother and no cake for me.......

I did not go to WW today. My work day was so bad yesterday that I thought I was either going to quit or be fired. I am still employed whether that's good or bad is still left to be determined.

So I went to Bunco last night and had two glasses of wine and ate some of the sweets. Then this morning I just could not be bothered to get out of bed this morning to go and I knew I was not going to have a good weigh in.

Hopefully everyone else is having a better time this week then me.

Maine, I'll let you know on Monday the weight and exercise on Monday!

Piglet - it sounds like that wine was well deserved. I'm so sorry that wok was so bad. I just woke up and will be on my way to work in just a few for an overnight shift. Maybe I'll have my glass of wine in the morning!

I haven't exercised once this week! Not once! However, the food thing has gone well so far, so next week I'll tackle the fitness aspect. Grocery shopping tomorrow, so maybe tonight I'll get a minute to work on my list for the week and plan ahead. This past week wasn't the best for planning with all the tests and the nasty cold. I'm so glad it only lasted a few days. I didn't go in last night for fear of giving all the patient's whatever bug I had, but today is so much better. The dripping and sneezing are all gone, and almost no cough left at all.

Have a nice night -

well today i had a bday party to go to and i done so good..no cake, chips nothing but my meals werent that great cause i was on the run all day and had to settle for fast food...but i had two ppl tell me today that i looked like i had lost weight i was like thanks and i was thinking dang that 3 or 4 lbs really did some good...lol

Tullosrn, that is fantastic! It's nothing like hearing an unsolicited compliment!

The weekend has not been to good for me but I have time to turn it around.

Hopefully everyone else is doing well! Remember we still have a lot of weeks to go!

Well my week has been going alright with excercise but I am having a hard time with the food. The worst was last night at work. I swear I eat more there than home sometimes, plus I make really bad choices there.

Woke up this morning and had a small bowl of grape nuts and strawberries. Let's see if I can keep it up at work.

Sounds like everyone is doing great......I am afraid to weigh in tomorrow.

Good luck everyone!

I woke up and the sun is shining. It's a new week for all of us and I am in a much better state of mind!

Good luck to everyone this week and Congrats on finishing last week!

Good luck to everyone for this week.

I vote to change the weigh in day to Friday.....lol I don't like the scale after the weekend..... I do better during the week......lol

I will pm my #'s tonight.

I usually weigh in on Thursday. I take off 1 day from dieting on the weekend. Thursday is usually a good day for me to weigh in because its right before the weekend and then far enough away from the weekend that I usually lose a little before that 1 day off.

Today I have only 7 points left because I had to have a slice of pizza. Blah!

Hi!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

I got up this afternoon (work 3rds Sat-Mon)m and weighed myself. I lost 4 lbs:) More than I wanted (2lbs) so I am pretty happy.

I did not get very much exercixe in 60/90 minutes. It has been cold and rainy here. I should have gotten on the treadmill, but I didn't.

Nightbloom & Tracy Lynn, I used to weigh in on Thursdays the last time I did WW too. I agree it is in the middle and gives you some leeway for the weekend. You could always make it your official weigh day and then just report on Monday.

Piglet, it is good to see you are refreshed and ready for a brand new week! I think attitude is a big factor in weight loss success.

Bsj, don't be too hard on yourself.. You are doing great exericising. The diet will come eventually. The most important thing is you are doing something for your health,:)

Everyone else keep up the good work! we can do this!
